"Eddie, Christian and the crew were amazing from start to finish. I did a bunch of research into various water softeners, "DIY" solutions, and in the end I found NC water consultants and couldn't be more pleased with the results. I would recommend this for anyone having city or well water issues... thanks a ton! :)"

"The sales rep took several water testsâ ¦ The sales rep took several water tests and showed me the results. She told me that I needed more than just a water softener. I also needed a system to address the rust and iron in my well water. I did not want to spend a fortune but the sales lady was pretty convincing. The price was good and the workmanship was excellent. My water is clean again ! Now I can tackle the original problem. My toilet has bad rust stains. I will either get it clean, or replace it. I could not do this until the water was fixed."

"They came and gave me a quote of 4500, I needed the job done so I hired them They sent another company to suck the tank out and they discovered that my tolites was running water they had some suggestions well I repair them and that fixed my problem then the guys from superior came and run the pressure washer and the job wound up costing me 5144 and in advance I told them I was on disability and fixed income, I highly recommend looking around before taking with these guys I know I feel like I was taken advantage of, they will never do any business for me again, another company found the problem and told me how to fix it, I fixed it, and superior made the money for it to me this is a big ripoff"

"About a year ago or more, Jim determined we needed a extra water softer tank to keep the red out of our well water. We couldn't be happier with the job he continues to do for us. Everyone who works with him is professional, clean, efficient, and very personable. Can't say anything but praises for him.

"They did charge for the estimate, but they rolled the cost of the estimate into the final price. They won the competition. We had three different highly rated companies on the list. What I liked the most about Queen's City is there were a lot of careful explanations. The plumber figured out fast that I did not know anything about plumbing. He could have just said I'm going to do this and this, and talk through it fast, but he took the time to explain several steps. The bonus was while he was walking around the house for the specific project, he said here is something that you are doing that will cause a plumbing problem down the road. He could have made more money down the road, for me to create that plumbing problem. We have a shower caddy hanging from our shower nozzle. He said over time the weight of that with all the shampoo bottles will mess up. Things will get bent up, and effect how the water is delivered. It won't happen immediately. Its a completely avoidable problem. I suggest you avoid it. It had nothing to do with why we brought them over. That was the water filtration. He was just looking. He said by the way you will save money if you do this. Take the shower caddy off the shower. Deal with your shampoo bottles a different way. He didn't need to do that. Little things like that he took the time to explain things. It wasn't condescending. If I wasn't getting things, he would take the time to explain it. I like everything about it. I had a very good experience with them."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Hard water isn’t necessarily bad for you. In some ways, it’s good for you. If you’re deficient in magnesium or calcium, hard water can give you a mineral boost that you wouldn’t get with soft water. However, this is where the benefits of hard water pretty much stop. Hard water can cause many minor inconveniences and lead to costly, premature replacements of your water-using appliances.

Whether you need a license or permit for water softener installation depends on your location. Some municipalities require the installer to hold a plumbing license, while others may only require a permit and an inspection. In some cases, both a permit and a licensed installer are necessary, and some areas have no requirements at all. Often, only certified plumbers and electricians are allowed to pull the necessary permits. To find out the specific regulations in your area, you can contact your local building department. Alternatively, a local water softener installer or plumber will be familiar with the requirements and can typically pull the permits for you. Regardless of local laws, it is always recommended to hire a licensed professional to ensure the system is sized and installed correctly. You can use tools like Angi’s state licensing tool to verify an installer's license status.

Softened water prevents scale deposits, reducing appliance wear, leading to energy savings and longer-lasting household fixtures.

Water purifiers and water softeners serve different purposes, so the best one will depend on your particular needs. Water purifiers remove contaminants from water (such as bacteria, viruses, and chemicals), leaving you with ultra-clean and safe water. However, water softeners remove minerals from your water so that the water doesn’t leave stains around your house or cause plumbing problems.

Experts recommend that you put two to four bags of potassium chloride in your water softener every month. This amount depends on how much is in the bag (40 pounds is most common) and what your water softener manufacturer recommends. For more specific advice, talk to a water softener pro in your area and read the manual that came with your system.
