"Jesse and his crew are quality builders who know how to provide great customer service along with craftsmanship. The deck and stairs they built for us are beautiful and sturdy. Jesse kept me aware of challenges as they arose and was very responsive which is hard to find nowadays."

Customers say: Quick response

"Good customer service. The only reason I did not hire them yet, is because I was not ready at the time. The price was reasonable, but a little high for me."

"John was great. He helped to get the window ordered at Lowes - even helped to get a less expensive, equivalent model. He and his crew showed up on time. They were clean, professional, courteous and truly interested in helping us to improve our house. The project took 2 days. They cleaned up when they were done, we paid our very reasonable bill via check and they were off. I would highly recommend John & Handy Home Helpers for your next project. We will use them again."

Small jobs welcome

"Task Ready Services just did a fantastic job repairing the foundation and replacing Trex on our back porch. It turned out to be a bigger project than expected but Robert just rolled with it and was a real professional always showing up on time, reliable, and is such a perfectionist. I would definitely recommend him for any job you might have."

Garages questions, answered by experts

Most heat in a garage is lost through air leaks in windows, doors, and walls. This is especially true if the walls are uninsulated, which is common in garages. Consider insulating your garage before installing a garage heater to ensure the heat it generates isn’t wasted, making it less efficient.

There should not be any visible gaps between the garage door and frame. If the gap is big enough that you can either see daylight or feel a draft, this indicates a problem. Bring in a garage door professional to help you discover why the gap exists. A pro may also be able to offer suggestions for how to insulate a garage.

With so many vastly different options to choose from, how can you find an inexpensive garage floor that you can also confidently say is the best? The right solution will be different for everyone and truly depends on your individual needs and stylistic tastes.

If you’re working with a smaller budget, a low-cost coating such as paint, sealer, or stain might be the best way to express your style in the garage. If you need a high-performance surface that can handle the tough projects and maintenance you do in the garage, or if you want a wide range of colorful customization options, flexible tiles might be for you.

You can prevent your garage from freezing by applying techniques like sprinkling salt onto the garage floor, installing a garage heater, shoveling snow outside the door, and more. Additional methods of preventing your garage from freezing over is to seal all potential air gaps, replace weatherstripping, and adding insulation to the surrounding walls to keep the heat from escaping.

A garage door screen can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you frequently use your garage for activities like a home gym, workshop, or other hobbies. It allows you to enjoy fresh air and natural light without worrying about bugs. Additionally, a screen provides ventilation that can improve air quality when you're working with paints, varnishes, or producing sawdust.

The best option depends on your usage. For occasional use, a DIY fabric screen is a low-cost, simple solution that you can put up and take down as needed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the space, investing in a customized, professionally installed garage door screen can help transform the area into a new hub for your household.
