"Ducts were cleaned as we contracted for. When they finished the HVAC ducts they said they would do the dryer vent as a complimentary service. I told them I had recently cleaned it and they would probably not get much lint out of the vent. I was amazed at all they got out and it was at no additional charge."

"Cory and his team are very knowledgeable about HVAC systems and thermostats. They arrived promptly, explained what they were going to do and wore shoe covers to help with tracking mess into house. We are a no shoes household so this is appreciated. We recently had a new HVAC system installed and the company that did it wired our new Glaz thermostat incorrectly and they noticed this and fixed the issue. They did an amazing job cleaning the ducts and the house smells 100% better than before we had it cleaned. Very friendly, courteous and hardworking guys, totally recommend this company and will use them again when needed!"

If refrigerant levels are low, it can cause the evaporator coil to freeze up. Low freon causes a drop in pressure, which will make the coil too cold and cause moisture to freeze on the coil. Your system may be low on refrigerant because of a leak. 

Make sure to have maintenance performed twice a year, and contact your local HVAC technician if you suspect your system has low freon levels.

You might notice that your air conditioner isn’t running as effectively as it once did. Specifically, your AC unit could take longer to cool your home, or it might struggle to remove humidity from the air. Higher utility bills and hissing sounds coming out of your AC could also indicate a leak.

Most HVAC companies charge a flat service call fee of between $75 and $150, which includes traveling to your home and inspecting your system to find the underlying problem. Keep in mind that these prices only include diagnostics and the actual repairs will usually be billed separately. If you’re calling for routine service, the service call will be included in your inspection and tune-up, with the total sitting around $150. Ideally, an AC system should never need more Freon (a popular refrigerant) because it circulates in a closed loop. However, refrigerant leaks are not uncommon and may occur gradually over 5 to 15 years. If your system has a leak, it will need to be topped up in a process known as an AC recharge. Signs of a refrigerant leak include weakened AC performance, increased humidity in your home, higher utility bills, and a hissing sound from the unit. The cost of an AC recharge will depend on the size and type of your AC unit, as well as the type of refrigerant it uses.

While all portable AC units will collect moisture as part of their cooling and dehumidifying process, whether and how often you need to drain them depends on what kind of unit you have and the natural humidity levels where you live. For example, if you live in a very dry area and have a self-evaporating unit, you may not need to drain your portable AC very often at all. Some units may automatically drain collected moisture out the window through their exhaust vent.
