"If you are in need of a Doctor you have come to the right place. We where out of town and a tree which was over a hundred feet tall fell on our house. I called the roof doctor and Jay had a crew out there the same day to remove the tree and tarp the roof. His quick action saved us from further damage as another storm came in the next day. Jay's crew at roof doctor repaired all the damage and installed a brand new roof. At a reasonable price I might add. Thank You Roof"

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water can cause radon to appear in a home. The gas seeps into homes through cracks in foundations, walls, or floors, as well as through gaps around pipes or construction joints. Radon levels are influenced by soil composition, building materials, and ventilation. Poorly sealed or airtight homes can trap radon, allowing it to accumulate.

No level of radon is technically safe, but because it’s everywhere—even in the air outside—it’s impossible to avoid entirely. Instead, the Environmental Protection Agency encourages taking preventative measures if the levels of radon in your home rise above 2 pCi/L. (For reference, the average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 pCi/L.

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that can cause lung cancer; testing ensures safe indoor air quality.

Installing a mitigation system reduces radon levels, which can cause lung cancer, providing peace of mind and long-term health benefits. It can also increase your home’s value, as many buyers prefer properties with radon safety measures in place. The investment is relatively low compared to the potential health risks associated with prolonged radon exposure.
