"They responded immediately to request for quotation. Provided new sod lawn. Showed up as scheduled to perform work. They had many fine suggestions in correcting the flooding of the yard along with the proper type of grass that was needed. I would highly recommend them."

Customers say: True professional

"We met with them in the Fall of 2000 for a design and estimated costs.  We were so pleased that we did not even contact anyone
else for  an estimate.  They were very easy to work with from the beginning.  They went with us to present a plan for a small fenced in
back yard  in 2001.  The Architectural Review Committee was a very tough sell.  Due to the excellent presentation by Hampstead Landscaping we were allowed to have a fenced in back yard.  We are one of two that  have this in the entire neighborhood.  I have used them since that time for all major maintenance except the weekly cutting of the grass.  I also still use them  when I want something added or changed to my landscape.

"I called Jonathon for an estimate after initially hiring someone else to do the job. The previous person started working on my yard seven weeks prior (still wasn't finished) and the patio/yard was a disaster. Jonathon came out the following day and got me on the schedule within a couple of weeks. He and his staff had to completely redo what had been done and they completed the work in less than two days (patio and plants). They were professional, efficient and communicated with me throughout the process. I immediately recommended him to my neighbor who hired him as well. I wish I had hired him initially as he was a pleasure to work with and did an excellent job!"

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Both bleach and vinegar are effective at killing and removing moss from surfaces like driveways. Bleach tends to have a longer-lasting effect, potentially keeping moss away for up to a year, whereas vinegar may require more frequent applications. However, vinegar is a non-chemical option that is gentler on the environment. A key consideration is the surface you are treating, as both substances can stain or discolor certain paver materials. It is recommended to test the solution on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't cause damage.

The pros are the precise treatments, such as aeration and fertilization, which protect and prepare your lawn for thriving warmer months.

Always begin by removing large debris, leaves, and branches from your lawn to make room for the rest of your lawn maintenance checklist. Move on to mowing, weeding, and edging in the spaces between your lawn and garden. Lastly, clean off all hardscapes, porches, and patios for a fresh and tidy appearance.

It’s possible to go too far trimming your bushes or hedges. If you overdo it, you may kill the plant. Stick to trimming about a third of the branches on your bush each season to prevent over-cutting. If your hedge is overgrown and needs a heavy trim, avoid cutting off the main branches that make up the top of the bush.

Trees that provide a habitat to bats and an abundance of bugs—their main food source—will attract bats to your yard. Because the North American landscape has changed so much in recent years, bats have a harder time finding trees with cavities to shelter in. If your yard has a dead or dying tree with a lot of sun exposure, bats will likely be drawn to it because trees with those features are less common.
