We know it’s tough to find a home services contractor you can trust. With over six decades of experience, Blanton’s is a Raleigh and Fayetteville mainstay. Known for our professional approach, quality products. and guaranteed workmanship, we’re proud to offer heating, cooling, plumbing and electric solutions that knock your socks off.
"Cancelled all services with Blanton as well as this well pitched Wow Service Plan. Was given a good pitch about services provided. However, after scheduling twice for services provided by service plan, only to have them cancelled and told need to reschedule. Today is was need to reschedule because they are anticipating (four days from now) a high volume of emergency calls due to cold weather and freezing temperatures. What cold weather? 52 and 43 at night are not freezing temps; 69 and 67 daytime are not freezing temps. So you reschedule appointments four days in advance with no actual justification or confirmation the day of of what you think might happen? Sounds more like laziness or a reason not to fulfill appointments made almost two weeks prior. Second, why have an online system that allows you to book an appointment and date but when you call to complete the appointment process, tell us that the dates that show on the calendar as “available” don’t actually mean they are available? The lady I spoke to said they are run by two different departments. Sounds like you need to update your systems and booking process that actually shows dates of availability so customers don’t waste time picking a date that isn’t actually available and waste time. Or get rid of calendar option altogether so you cannot select a date that isn’t in “real” time."

"Originally I had them come out to look because my downstairs A/C system was cooling sporadically. The technician was really friendly, polite and informed me that it would be $1500 to replace the variable motor b/c it was completely done. My system is just now at 10 years old. I decided to compare the cost of getting a new unit which I ended up doing. I got different estimates but Andy gave me the best deal for the best unit out of all the estimates. Install went great, the technicians were very polite, professional and my house is cooling again."

"Bottom line is I can’t recommend Pro Build and Design. Below you will see why. There are plenty of general contracting companies in Fayetteville that will provide the proper service during the entire process until the job is done. This didn’t happen with Pro Build. I needed a front and rear door replaced on my rental property and Pro Build and Design was recommended to me by a friend. I contacted Brandon at Pro Build on the 14th of Nov and he was responsive, sending a team out on the 19 th. He was clear with the estimate and explanation of the work to be done. But once I made the initial deposit (roughly 80% of the total bill) on the 20th of Nov that responsiveness stopped. Here’s where the issues began. 1) He never sent a receipt until I asked for one. When he did it was a cell phone picture. No real invoice or receipt via email and I still haven’t seen one (It’s now 23 Jan 25). 2) After that payment, I didn’t hear from Brandon for two weeks until 3 Dec when, again, I reached out to him asking for a status on the doors. I’m told the doors will be in on the 12th of Dec and install will be on the 13th. 3) The 13th comes, and I get a message saying he can’t install them that day because the city of Fayetteville moved an inspection on them. New install date of 16th Dec. 4) Fast forward to the 29th of Dec and the doors still weren’t installed and no status updates from him over that two-week period. New install date of 2 or 3 Jan. I ask again for an invoice and receipt for my payment (tax write off). No response to this. 5) 3 Jan comes and no status on the door until I reach out to him at 8 pm. I’m told that he tried to contact the tenant but didn’t hear from her (she never got a call), so he’ll try again tomorrow. 6) 8 January comes and the install is finally done. He was quick to ask that I pay the remaining balance on the 9th, which I did. 7) 16 January I ask for the final invoice and receipt, and he tells me he sent it last week. I never received it so asked for him to resend it. It’s now the 23d and I still haven’t received it. But I have received a bunch of reasons why he hasn’t sent it (working, it’s been cold so dealing with pipes, another city of Fayetteville inspection, I’ll have it to you in an hour, I’ll have it to you once I get free, etc…) 8) I also asked for a receipt of the $1900 doors I purchased for a few different reasons (if I need to replace it at some point, it’s considered an upgrade for selling the place, taxes, insurance) and his response was “Usually customers don’t ask for receipts because it’s the contract you’re writing off not the doors. You didn’t purchase the doors, my company did.” I’m pretty sure the $1900 for the two doors came out of my account so I did purchase the doors. You picked them up and installed them. Pros: · Doors work and look good. Had minor issue with the fit which was fixed the next day · Responsive initially · Cleaned up the work and left the place in the same condition as when he started. Cons: · Poor communications after the initial payment until the last payment was due when he was quick to ask for my last payment. I had to reach out to him every time. · Poor service regarding providing invoices/receipts. Still haven’t received either. · Took 56 days from start to finish including 28 days after he had the doors."

Yes, most states require plumbers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality, added future expenses, and potential code violations. Having a licensed plumber tackle your projects only protects you as a homeowner.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Before finding the right plumber for your job, there are a few questions that you should ask, including:
Are you licensed and insured?
Do you charge for estimates?
Is your fee a flat rate, or is it hourly?
Who will do the work? Are they all licensed and qualified plumbers?
What happens if any breaks or damages occur?
What is your response time in an emergency?
Is cleanup included in the quote?
Do your services come with a guarantee?
Discussing these questions with your plumbing contractor will help eliminate future issues and clarify expectations.
Before your plumber pays you a visit, it’s a good idea to clean up any boxes, garbage, or other obstacles that could be in their way. In addition, it’s best practice to clean the area that needs to be inspected or worked on, like a toilet, for example. Make sure to keep kids and pets out of the way once the plumber arrives.
Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.
The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.
A faucet replacement vs. a failed waste line flooding a finished basement would be at opposite ends of a very broad spectrum. "A plumbing repair" could range from perhaps a $150 minimum service charge up to tens of thousands of dollars for a substantial repair and associated cleanup, finish work, etc.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
