"Jeremy Wallace and Seth Wyatt did a thoroughly professional job. They were polite and very forthcoming with all information. They gave me an estimate upfront and honored that estimate. They fixed a problem that I had two other plumbers trying to fix. I highly recommend them."

"Salesman Bob Wood was wonderfully helpful - no upselling, no pressure, provided multiple options for everything. The install was able to take place very quickly - Pedro D., Joel T., and Alex did the install in a single day as promised. They were professional, friendly, very respectful of my home and even patched up the surrounding tile from the main bathroom. The new shower is beautiful - very happy I decided to move ahead. Financing was easy as well. I would (and have!) recommended them to family and friends - will use them again for any future projects."

"Five Star Bath is an excellent company. Their design consultant was very informative and they have a proprietary product that is sleek, but also durable. Our tub to shower conversion was clean and seamless. Kirk and team communicated well are excellent install techs. Additionally they were much more competitive from a pricing perspective than all of the larger companies."

"The entire process was very professionally executed. Dry-Pro systems came out (David) and examined the crawl space, took pictures of the worst problem areas, tested the joists and support beams for moisture content and thoroughly explained their process for remediation of our problem. I was impressed by their thoroughness and I was confident that their proposal was a total solution backed by science that I could easily reference. The Dry-Pro work team assigned to my project ( Tony, Demario, & Jose ) were very professional and extremely friendly. They called before they arrived, arrived when they said they would and worked very conscientiously. They answered all of my questions and it was obvious they knew their business. I could also tell they enjoyed working for Dry-Pro so I think that says something about the company. This is very hard work but they kept a very pleasant attitude and the whole project couldn't have gone smoother. Tony pointed out that I had a slow drip under our shower drain and a drain line for our upstairs HVAC system had become disconnected in the crawl space. So I got a plumber and our HVAC guys out to immediately address these issues. They all showed up at the same time but it did not affect this Dry Pro team from getting the job done! They finished the job in less time than was estimated and I now have a dry and beautiful crawl space and I no longer have to worry about decaying floors, mold, etc. In the last hour of my project, a DRY PRO manager drove up to inspect the work and talk to me to make sure I was satisfied. You very seldom find great service like this so I am impressed. Thanks again to Tony, DeMario & Jose! You are all hard working young men of good character. God Bless You Guys!"

"He over charged me. I paid 1500.00 for my septic tank to be cleaned out and rejuvenated it, as he called it. He quoted over the phone 400.00, so I expected to pay 600.00. When he got here he started to tell me about an easier way to find my septic tank for next time. He was going to add risers for me. He said the price of that was 2800.00 I was like I ca not afford that, so maybe another time. He told me he would charge me 1500,00 to do the whole job. He said he would give me a first responders discount, I told him I work in the Emergency Department at a hospital, plus I was still in my uniform when I met him, I had just gotten off of work. He said that he counts that as a first responder. Then, he said he would give me a first time customers discount and the total went from 2800.00 to 1500.00 but I had a water line directly over the tank and he could not do the risers, but he still charged me 1500.00. I felt like I was ripped off! It had to be cleaned out and I just wanted to get it done so that I could shower and go to sleep. He came out on a Monday morning a little after 9am. It was not a holiday or weekend. He did not do any extra work that would have cost 1500.00. I was confused and just paid him. Even though I felt like he was ripping me off. He did clean out all the materials inside of my septic tank. He was friendly and explained how the septic tank worked. I still feel like I triple paid for a job."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

You may not be able to prevent water spots on your black faucet, but the good news is that you can quickly wipe away water spots, fingerprints, smudges, and smears with a damp cloth. The best practice is to get in the habit of wiping the black faucet daily to prevent any mineral buildup or hard water stains.

Today’s standard sink stopper size is 1.5 inches. However, you can still find different sizes if your house uses an older sink stopper. Other sizes you can find in most hardware stores include one inch, 1-1/4 inch, 1-3/8 inch, 1-5/8 inch, 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, 2-1/4 inch, 2-3/8 inch, and 2.5 inch.

No, the pink ring in your toilet bowl isn’t a hard water stain but a type of bacteria called Serratia marcescens. This bacteria can also cause pinkish stains in other areas of your bathroom, like around your tub, shower curtains, and faucets. Thankfully, it’s considered to be harmless. However, if you or anyone in your household is immunocompromised, it can cause issues like urinary tract infections. You can clean the pink ring with bleach and a plastic brush. Wear gloves and goggles when using bleach, and always work in a well-ventilated room.

A bit of water in the bowl can help unclog a toilet, especially if you're using a plunger. However, if the bowl is full to the brim, you'll need to strap on gloves and remove some of the wastewater in a cup or container so it doesn't overflow when you try to unblock the pipe. If you're concerned about it filling further, manually close the flapper in the toilet tank or turn off the water supply to the toilet.

This depends on how old your home is and residential construction norms where you live. Most modern homes have outdoor shut-off valves, but many older homes have the water meter indoors. You're most likely to find this valve in the basement or utility closet if it's indoors. If you have an outdoor shut-off valve, it should be somewhere on the perimeter of your home.
