"Jeremy Wallace and Seth Wyatt did a thoroughly professional job. They were polite and very forthcoming with all information. They gave me an estimate upfront and honored that estimate. They fixed a problem that I had two other plumbers trying to fix. I highly recommend them."

"Very professional company. Salesman was friendly smart and knowledgeable. He offered me multiple levels of service to fit my needs and budget. The crew Gerber H. William B. and Jordan P. were friendly and very professional. They answered all my questions and had good advice for me on protecting my home from water damage such as drainage and gutter routing. They worked well and quietly. The job they did is amazing. They turned my dungeon like crawl space into a clean bright space. They removed all the debris that collected over the years from plumbing and foundation repairs. And left my yard neat and clean just as it was before they started. They also took all the trash with them. Middle management stayed in touch and kept me informed of scheduling and the process. I would hire them again if I need there service. I do recommend Dry Pro highly for your project."

"I cannot be more pleased. I am not one to use superlatives, but after dealing with 4 other companies that did not seem to know what they were doing I was extremely happy with the quality of his work, his pricing, his responsiveness, his efficiency and most of all his honesty. Thank you Angie's List for having him on your list. He is my new well go-to person. He knows wells!!!!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Bleach—even diluted bleach—is not always the safest option for cleaning your drains. With a high pH, bleach can be highly corrosive to many types of pipes, especially when used regularly. When mixed with household cleaners and organic waste, it can also create dangerous chemicals. Remember to use proper protective equipment and ventilation when dealing with bleach.

A washing machine should drain the water used during its cycle through a drainpipe and out through the house’s plumbing. This is the same plumbing that sinks and shower drains run to, and if the U-bend is installed correctly, it shouldn’t smell. The total drainage from the house is then integrated into the city sewer system or, if you’re in the country, dispersed into a septic tank.

Yes, it’s possible to cap a gas line yourself if you’re no longer using it or are simply going out of town for an extended period of time. It’s essential to follow the steps on properly capping a gas line yourself. If you’re uncomfortable with any of the steps, you may want to bring in a natural gas plumber for added reassurance.

Tools include a wrench, plunger, and wax ring. Professionals use specialized tools for complex installations.

You’ll need two sizes of pipe to plumb a bathroom. You’ll use a 1/2-inch pressure pipe for your supply lines that run from the fixture to the larger 3/4-inch supply lines that run through the house. For drain lines, you’ll need a 3-inch PVC pipe for your toilet, a 2-inch PVC pipe for stand-alone showers, and a 1 1/2-inch pipe for a shower/tub combo and the bathroom sink. Each fixture’s drain will run to the 3-inch main drain that runs through the house.
