"Carpet was removed & hardwood installed in living room, dining room ,hallway & stairs. Robert came out with samples & helped me in making a final decision on the flooring. The price was lower than other estimates I had gotten although that was not the deciding factor. The workers were professional & did a beautiful job on the floors. Thank you to all at Floor Zone!"

"the company was refered to us by a friend who'd had carpets replaced by them in the recent past. Their estimate was thousands less than any other company I'd gotten estimates from. Britni was very easy to talk to and went out of her way to make sure we were happy with our experience. Our carpets were replaced as well as hardwood floors refinnished. The hardwoods looked ok.I would say I'm overall 85% satisfied with them. There were areas in most, if not all of the corners of the rooms where the wood filler they used was not sanded and just sealed over! An entire tack strip row was not even filled in before they stained and sealed leaving obvious holes in one spot. While they did come back ad "fix" the tack strip miss hap, they didn't touch the corners of the rooms where the filler was sealed over. Didn't even offer to fix it.
Our carpet was very nicely installed. However, due to too many people telling them what to do where, some lines got crossed and a closet did not get carpeted when it was supposed to be. They came back and gave me a BS shpeil about having to take up an entire row of carpeting in order to fix it. Not true. Only would've had to pull up and re-seam where the closet door was. I think they just didn't want to bend down and spend 20 more minutes fixing their mess up. Instead the guy cut a piece of carpet to fit the closet and just laid it in there! We were done nagging by that point so we let it go... After all they were thousands less than anyone else. I would recommend using them to friends with only one bit of advise. Stay on top of them. If something isn't to your liking, MAKE them fix it!! Be clear on your standards and hold SCI to those standards."

"There was a hiccup in my experience. Enough "waste" was not ordered, so a job that was supposed to be completed in 2 days, took a week and a half. While having my house in disarray for an extended period of time was a pain, ProFloors did make my job a priority in getting it completed. Now that everything is completed, I am very happy with the process and product. I plan to use ProFloors when we are ready for new carpet."

"After my initial phone call, he was able to visit the job site the next day and provided me with a printed estimate detailing each job and how much labor and materials would cost within two business days. Very knowledgeable, I had several random projects covering all kinds of exterior and interior work and he was able to complete them all. Very friendly and easy to get along with, was pleased with his quality of work. We will be using him again for future projects."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

The answer depends on the size of the problem. If the carpet damage is small, then you or a pro can fix it with a carpet patch. This commonly includes things like burn marks from fireplaces or small holes from furniture snagging on it.

Other times, replacing the carpet rather than repairing it is best. For example, if you have large, worn sections, water damage, or can’t get rid of a strong odor, it may be time for a replacement. Carpet removal costs average $180 plus the cost of new carpet installation.

Vacuum regularly, clean spills promptly, and schedule professional deep cleaning annually.

Pros use power stretchers that secure the carpet firmly in place.

Standard padding works like a sponge. It absorbs liquid, soaking up every drop of moisture that hits it. Moisture barrier padding does the opposite because it has a waterproof coating made of plastic film, rubber, or treated foam. It doesn’t absorb spills and keeps them on the surface instead, so you can clean them up before they damage your subfloor.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.
