"They came on a Saturday and diagnosed the problem at no cost. Then they saved us over $1700 by finding a replacement motor and controller and not buying it from Bryant/Carrier. They found one nearby and installed it on Monday. We had originally contacted one of the larger, established local firms who charged us just to diagnose the problem and wanted to order the OEM replacement. Even just replacing just the controller that way would have cost double what the motor-controller combo cost using All About. The markups on these parts is just ridiculous. All About Heat & Air earned my future business."

"
So I got my furnace manual out that came with the furnace and go the gas valve part number.  I did a google search and I got about

five different places that gave me a price.  250.00 for the gas valve.    So that means they are charging about 500 dollars to

install the gas valve."

"All Dry of the Carolinas has provided a quote to do a french drain system around the front yard and replacing a sump pump that was installed by another company with one that is not a box store pump, but a super sump. They have also provided me with a warranty and clean outs will be installed in order to flush the system once a year. I have a quote for encapsulation as well. But that work will have to wait until I have a joist replaced."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on system size, efficiency rating, and additional features like zoning or smart controls.

All modern boilers are condensing boilers because they’re the most efficient type. Instead of extra heat leaving through the flue, these boilers trap the heat and use it to heat the house. Whether you choose a combi boiler, system boiler, or regular boiler, you can opt to get a condensing system. If you have an old boiler that’s not a condensing boiler, it’s a good idea to get an upgrade.

The main difference between an outdoor wood furnace versus an outdoor wood boiler is what each appliance is heating. An outdoor wood furnace burns wood to create heat, which warms the air and moves it through the ducts in your home. An outdoor wood boiler uses the heat from burning wood to warm water, which goes through pipes to radiators in the home.

There are several types of home radiators, and the most common are steam heat radiators, electric radiators, and dual-fuel radiators. Steam heat radiators are connected to a boiler. Electric radiators can operate without being connected to anything else—they just need an electrical outlet. If you have a dual-fuel radiator, you’ll see a valve at the bottom of the system with a wire coming out of it and going into a wall. These are often your towel radiators in the bathroom. The type of radiator you have will impact how you turn it on.

An HVAC system typically lasts between 10 and 30 years, with an average lifespan of 15 to 25 years. The longevity of the system is influenced by factors such as the quality of the unit, usage frequency, local climate, and how well it is maintained. Regular maintenance, including cleaning, filter replacements, and professional inspections, can help maximize its lifespan. Different components within the system have varying life expectancies. For example:

  • Furnaces: 15 to 30 years

  • Boilers: 20 to 35 years

  • Air Conditioners (AC units): 12 to 20 years

  • Heat Pumps: 10 to 20 years

  • Ductless Mini-Splits: 10 to 30 years
