Customers say: Terrific value

Small business that specializes in gas piping; wood, gas, pellet stove installation & service; gas fireplace installation & service. 2 - 3 employees depending on season. Payment preferred at time of service.

"A few years ago, we hired Steve to service 3 propane fireplace stoves in our home and to clean the chimney. He was quite friendly and did an excellent job. The stoves were in need of servicing again last year and we called him again. Steve arrived with an assistant and worked on repairing the stoves. He got one working, while two of them needed replacement parts, which he said he would order and come back to finish the job. He was friendly and talkative, just like the first time we'd hired him. However we never received a call to schedule the completion of the job. We called and left a message and received no reply. We called again. And again. And again. Over the course of several months. Each time we called we left a polite message. We let it go for a few months, then finally called again. This time Steve answered his phone. As soon as I said my name, HE HUNG UP ON ME! We ended up calling another company, and they examined the two non-functioning stoves and told me that Steve had taken the entire guts out of one of the stoves, which we now had to replace. The cost of repairing our stoves went through the roof since we had to pay two companies and replace the parts Steve had taken. Do NOT hire this company. Don't let the A reviews fool you. If the job requires any kind of follow-up, you'll be left out in the cold."

"My chest freezer broke down and I did not want to buy a new one since I could not afford the same size. I reached out to appliance parts pro and they were confident that what I ordered would fix my problem. $200 in parts later and I now have a broken freezer on my porch and am still paying the loan to this terrible company. They just want you to order parts and try them because they know you can't return them. I hate this company with every fiber of my being and will make sure that anyone that has a broken appliance will not use them. To top it off, their site is so screwed up that it give you an error trying to log back in. I ended up having to create THREE different accounts because every time I went to place a new order, it would not let me login and it would not send a password reset email. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF."

Grill Repair questions, answered by experts

While there are many benefits to installing a metal roof on your home, there are some downsides, too. Zinc roofs, in particular, are susceptible to corrosion from overly salty air directly near coastal areas. Another potential downside of zinc roofing is that it must be allowed to expand and contract with the weather. This means special attention is necessary to how it's fastened to the home to avoid issues.

Metal roofs have an excellent reputation for longevity. Including aluminum roofing, you can expect a metal roof to last between 40 and 80 years under normal conditions and with proper maintenance. That longevity can shorten in areas where salty air is a concern and not accounted for during installation to provide additional material protections.

Roofers most often use nails to fasten roofing shingles and other roofing materials. Nails have more holding power than staples and offer better weather resistance and longevity. However, it is possible to use staples instead of nails when installing a roof. Staples are less expensive, but not as high-quality.

Roof repair costs about $1,100 on average. The cost to repair a roof depends on the size, type of roof, and severity of the issue. Additional cost factors include the type of repairs needed, the pitch and complexity of the roof design, any permits required, and the labor cost in your location. The time of year can influence the overall price, too, as winter repairs can be more expensive due to the slippery conditions for working on a roof.

Hail damage to a roof looks different depending on the type of roof. On asphalt roofs, you’ll likely see dark circles on the impact sites of the larger pieces of hail, and you may see small cracks in the surrounding shingles. Hail damage is easiest to spot on a metal roof, as you’ll notice dings and dents where the hail was severe enough to cause damage. Whether you notice signs of hail damage or not, it’s best to have a hail damage repair company inspect your roof after a major storm to assess the damage.
