"Seth Kolby and his sidekick Zach can do virtually most anything. They're working on appliances garage doors decks windows replacing sliding glass door with French door and you name it. This Duo is remarkable. It is so comforting to see Angie pros who take such pride in their work and in providing you with a cost-effective solution to whatever problem you have. Don't want to brag on them too much because then they won't be as available and I'm not very good at sharing:-)"

"Jon from Painting & Moore came to my home and gave me an upfront and honest quote to paint my 10 window shutters. My shutters are burgundy and were very much faded from the sun, the previous owner hadn't touched them up. Jon gave me a quote for one coat of paint and let me know how much an additional coat would cost if I saw it and decided on another. Alex and his partner then came the day of to paint. Jon came too to double check / confirm my asks. The shutters looked beautiful with a nice shine when they finished! Alex asked if I liked the one coat which I did, so no 2nd coat needed. The team left the house and front porch super clean as if they weren't there. They were professional and kind. My house looks new with the fresh shutter paint! I'd definitely recommend Painting & Moore and would use them again!"

"I called with a question regarding what I thought may be a support beam that is blocking access to repair a jetted bathtub.  I needed an expert opinion before considering letting a handyman remove it.   Blake came out to my house personally, crawled into my tiny storage closet, moved insulation (without gloves lol) assessed the situation and assured me that it was OK to allow them to cut it.  He did not charge me and would not let me pay him.  Nicest guy you could want working in your home and we will without a doubt call him for any major projects we may need or want in the future.

"Mark did an excellent job. He cares about his work and wants to make sure you are satisfied. While providing and estimate he took note of a gutter that needed to be replaced and gave me an excellent price. I asked about a chimney cap and he came back to do that as well. I was more than pleased with the services provided and would definitely hire again!"

"

Stuart and his crew did an excellent job remodeling my kitchen. They installed new cabinets, granite countertops, and a natural stone backsplash. The craftsmanship was excellent and I would definitely work with them again

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.

Options include tempered, laminated, and tinted glass for various needs.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.
