"Rodrigo and his team completely transformed my kitchen. They painted my wooden stained cabinets, walls, trim and ceiling. The cabinets look like new! They are expert painters and pay close attention to detail. I would hire them again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone in need of their services!"

"Wes and the crew at Straight Edge Painting Pros were outstanding. Wes quickly returned my calls, gave a very reasonable quote, and the crew did an outstanding job repairing damaged wood and staining the house. In addition we had new wood garage doors installed after the house was stained and the Straight Edge team came back right after installation to stain these doors as part of the original estimate. We are very satisfied and would strongly recommend Straight Edge Painting Pros to anyone looking for house painters."

"The contracting process with SouthEnd Painting was seamless. The sales team and front office were very responsive to all of my questions and especially patient with my (several) last minute changes. They have even helped with providing the colors used several months later, so I could mange some touch-ups required due to light fixture changes - super helpful :) I was happy with the look of the home and have received several compliments on the work. I have already recommended SouthEnd Painting to friends and will use them again in the future."

"While replacing our gutters on a two story house, we discovered that we needed the soffit and fascia replaced. We called 5 contractors. Three said the were too busy, one gave us what we thought was a very high estimate and the last couldn't get out to give us an estimate for at least a week. A friend suggested we contact Mr. Morend who answered my call immediately and was more than willing to come out in the evening to look over the project. He arrived on time, took all the measurements and said he would have an estimate for us the next day. Early the next day we had our estimate which was more in line with our expectation and based on the recommendations on Mr Morend we decided to accept his bid. When we explained we needed the work done as soon as possible he offered to come out on Saturday of the Labor Day weekend. He and his crew arrived on time and simply went to work. They worked steady and did an outstanding job. They removed the old soffit and discovered some additional rotten trim. Everything was then replaced and repainted. We could not be more pleased with the work that they did. There is no doubt that we will be contacting Pristine Images again."

"Great job - Clay met me and went through the details. He gave a spot on estimate that beat most of his competitors. The team was delayed one day due to rain, but finished the job on time. The house looks great, I could not have asked for a better job or experience."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

Yes, pressure-treated wood can occasionally turn green due to certain preservatives, such as copper-based chemicals, used during the treatment process. These chemicals react with the wood, creating a greenish tint. The good news? It's temporary, and the color will fade over time. Staining or painting can also help hide any unwanted hues.

Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.

Satin paint is generally considered a better choice for woodwork—including trim, baseboards, cabinets, and doors—than flatter finishes like eggshell or matte. Its soft sheen enhances architectural details and stands up well to frequent cleaning and daily wear. Compared to eggshell and matte finishes, satin is more durable for high-touch areas because it is less porous and doesn't absorb dirt as easily. Matte finishes, in particular, are prone to scuffs and are harder to clean, making them less practical for surfaces like doors and cabinets.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.
