"Jason was extremely thorough with his inspection. The house had a previous inspection done but most of what was on his inspection wasn’t noted in the last one."

"When Mr. Arnett called me to discuss the project, he was very friendly & helpful. He explained exactly what the test for asbestos would include, the time frame for the test, the cost, & shared general information about asbestos that helped me understand why it was so important for me to proceed with having my ceiling tiles tested. I felt like I received great customer service from Mr. Arnett & CDA Envrionmental!"

"Great people, honest and fair. I have confidence that the system they installed is the best. Radon NC used top quality materials and their guarantee is comprehensive. I almost went with a "national" company but I compared their estimate to Radon NC and there's no comparison. Affordable Environmental Services guarantee their work and use the best materials, not the cheapest. I recommend this company!"

"We needed this test done very quickly to meet our deadline and Mike was able to get the job done and results back to us with plenty of time to spare. He hand-delivered the test to the lab and got the results very quickly. Could not be happier with his work and the outcome."

"Dave came to me by recommendation of my usual guy because of an illness. My usual guy knows that I'm a real Estate Broker and I demand perfection so he recommended Dave at Metrolina Inspection Services. Dave did a fantastic inspection at the first home and so I used him again. He found major problems including structure, HVAC, electrical and plumbing to the tune of $25,000. Thankfully, the seller's wanted to make sure the home would be safe and agreed. Then Dave came back for a re-inspection and found that a large majority of the work had not been completed. Afterwards, that was taken care of too! I've been in real Estate since 2004 and I expect the best so I highly, strongly recommend Dave Hahn if you ever need a Home Inspection. Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The fan that pulls the radon out of the air needs to run continuously, so you may see an increase in your electric bill once you install the mitigation system. Additionally, you may see an increase in your heating or cooling bills, as the fan can cause some loss of hot or cool air.

While DIY testing is possible, abatement generally requires professional installation to ensure efficacy and meet safety standards.

If your home has a sump pit, you can integrate it with a radon mitigation system. You can accomplish this by sealing the pump cover with an airtight lid that accommodates radon vent pipes and sump pump hoses. This allows the vent pipe to redirect the radon gas outside of your home.

Your radon fan needs to operate 24/7 to be effective. The only time the fan isn't operating is during its replacement. Radon levels in the home can increase within hours if the fan stops working or something obstructs the stack vent. Fortunately, radon systems require no downtime maintenance between fan changes.

The cost for a radon mitigation system typically ranges from $800 to $1,500, with an average around $1,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the severity of the radon issue, and the type of system required. Your home's foundation type also significantly impacts the cost. For example, sealing and ventilating an unfinished basement might cost around $4,600, while encapsulating a crawl space without a foundation slab can range from $1,500 to $15,000.
