"Pete and his team built window seats in both of our dormers with an hinged top so they could also be used for storage.  Pete offered suggestions to make the seats look more functional (most of which we did) and even talked us out of an expensive option we were considering (we're glad he did now).  The finished product was exactly what we wanted.  We could not have been happier!
We requested aluminum screen on our porch which is admittedly harder to work with since it doesn't stretch.  Being the perfectionist, Pete called me to express concern the screen wasn't going to be tight enough due to the rigidity of the aluminum.  The screens look great to me so again, we are very happy.  We also requested a doggie door be installed.  We were expecting a doggie door set in with plain wood but got a doggie door surrounded by bead board and molding - Very nice for the dog!

Eifs Installers FAQs, answered by experts

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

Expect excavation below grade, creating a well for access, weatherproofing, and thorough inspections during setup.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

Costs depend on window size, type, material, and labor. Custom shapes or sizes typically incur higher expenses; full installation includes removing old windows.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.
