Walt and his team (Travis and Alfonzo) repaired a problem four other providers were unable to diagnose and fix. They were easy to contact, showed up on time, and completed the work exactly as promised, at the pre-quoted very reasonable price. In our 40+ years in Charlotte, this is the very best service provider we have used. Highly recommend!!

Walt was recommended to us by a neighbor and was great to work with. He and his crew installed 2 new zones to our existing irrigation system as well as a new landscape lighting system. They showed up on time, cleaned up well, and did quality work. The even left the existing zones of the irrigation system in better shape than when they found them which I appreciated. Will use them again in the future.

7-3-2021: Global Turf Irrigation recently updated/upgraded an older irrigation system in my backyard. There were newly landscaped areas needing better water coverage and new nozzles/heads and Global Turf Irrigation, as always, did an superb job!! Travis and Alfonso are irrigation professionals who take pride in their work and make sure every job is done right. Travis works closely with customers to gain a complete understanding of what the customer wants. He then structures a plan that will best achieve a customer's goals and expectations. Travis and Alfonso installed new water lines and new sprinkler heads, replaced a number of faulty or broken heads, and adjusted water patterns for the best coverage on newly planted and landscaped areas. I use Global Turf Irrigation for all of my irrigation needs. I can always count on Travis and Alfonso for prompt and reliable service and to do the best job possible at a reasonable price. Unfortunately I must leave a bad review after trusting the many other positive reviews on this site. Walt was asked up front if he had time to perform our work to which he said he did. He came out to diagnose our system and was contracted to fix the entire thing, making sure that the five zones not working would come back online. He estimated $1000 for this work and assured us once more he wanted the job and did have time to do it, even though it was his busy season and he handled corporate clients. He came back another day with a helper and spent several hours locating problems. He replaced 4 faulty sprinkler heads, which he charged another $200 for. Walt assured us the system was working great, all issues handled and he left. Two days later, all five original zones did not work when the system cycled through its schedule. We called back immediately and began to get a song and dance, explaining how busy he was this time of year. But, he eventually came back and did some more digging around and left again without communicating. The next time we were able to get Walt to pick up the phone, he was less than helpful but asked us to work with his heavily booked schedule. He promised he WOULD get back to us if we would just be patient. Six weeks later—Now, he does not return calls, texts or emails. He broke his word that he would fix our system, even after we tried to accommodate his busy season. Whatever digging he did, must have broken something else, because our irrigation bill was over $300. Obviously now something is leaking. He got his $1200 and didn’t look back. I wish I had never called Global Turf. Walt has given them a horrible name. I still have a broken system and NOW a leaking system and I have been fleeced for $1200. What a disappointing “professional.”

"Here is how this actually happened: The back yard heads were stuck & running anytime the controller was on.Someone had previously installed a master valve on the entire system to mask the stuck valve. That's a garbage fix. I advised that the system needs to be replaced but I would find the stuck valve in the back yard and replace it for $1,000. After much digging & wire tracing, we found the valve that had not been seen since the early 90's & replaced it-that is not as easy as we make it look. Previous contractors were incapable of that task. We then walked the system with Mrs [Member Name Removed]. She signed off on everything & paid for the service. Days later I got a call about OTHER AREAS not working properly & advised that it would be additional. We reluctantly returned & located additional valves as a favor. We spent quite a bit of time doing hard work finding those valves. I didn't charge a single penny for the crew doing a follow up trip that I absolutely didn't owe them. I told Mr. [Member Name Removed] there would be an addition charge to replace that valve as it was working before. When I became aware that it was expected of me to take ownership of the system or have my reputation trashed online, I quit communicating. Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s texts threatening to bash me on various sites don't bother me. I have a history on Angies that also dates back to the 90's. He said he would post my text (singular) to him on this site, so let me beat him to that. It said his review here is garbage and he had a non-running 94 Camaro. I got it running for $1,000. I did not agree to make it whole afterwards when we discover it needs a transmission, alternator, power steering pump, & the brakes are locked up. No reasonable person would hold me responsible for every ancillary aspect of an old irrigation system that is found after the fact. Instead of demanding a full refund, he should be happy that we found all the bad valves that the previous contractors couldn't. We did the hard part so now any jackleg with a pickup should be able to zip it up."

FANTASTIC!! When I purchased my home there was an older irrigation system in place and it was only doing a fair job watering the lawn and bushes. Travis, Service Technician, did a terrific job locating & repairing irrigation heads that had been in the ground a long time and making adjustments to the system to insure proper water coverage. Also, Travis discovered defective valves that were creating issues with my irrigation system and he will be replacing them. Global Turf Irrigation responds quickly when called and Travis is professional, polite, and efficient. Travis has a wealth of knowledge about irrigation systems and quickly identifies problems and provides cost effective solutions. It is understandable why Global Turf Irrigation is rated so highly on Angie's List. I am glad I chose Global Turf Irrigation for all of my irrigation needs and recommend this company to anyone who is looking for the very best in irrigation installation, maintenance, and repair.

I wish I could rate A+++++ because I have so many good things about this business and team! Honestly the best service provider we've had the pleasure of working since owning a home, and there have been a lot. I called about help with a leak repair and a quote on extending our current irrigation system, and Travis came out the next day, and work done in less than a week (we were lucky to snag them at the beginning of the season - I know they are probably in high demand and scheduling is probably trickier as the year goes on). I know next to nothing about irrigation systems, so I really appreciated the time taken in explaining the work they were planning, as they were completing the work, and a really thorough walk through of the system once complete. The team also took such care in keeping our lawn as put together as possible, and I am honestly amazed with how nice our grass still looks given the scope of the work they accomplished. This (super slow) leak has been driving us crazy for months, and we even had other providers come out without success on finding/fixing it. Anyone who has dealt with this knows how frustrating it is! I was beginning to think I was losing my mind, but Travis + team found and fixed the tiny (I mean TINY) leak without a problem. They also installed a new controller, extended 2 zones, and added 2 new zones to fully cover our lawn with sprinklers (new heads across the whole backyard). 10/10 would recommend hiring Global Turf Irrigation if you're in need of irrigation work. We are so so thankful we found them and for the exceptional service!

After a rough beginning with some miscommunications which prompted a lower review at first, my husband and I can now say that we would be more than happy to recommend Global Turf Irrigation. Our service person, Travis, could not be more knowledgeable and professional. He fixed our problem in a timely fashion, and we have no problem now. He even saw a potential problem out by the sidewalk that he said to keep an eye open for and told us to call him if we saw it start leaking. We did end up getting a leak, and he came to check it out while we were away and called us to tell us what the problem was, as well as where the water was coming from, which ended up to be from a neighbor. Because of his warning, we became aware of the leak early and were able to notify our neighbor. I would definitely hire Global again, and would especially ask for Travis.

It went great! Dustin did the initial sizing and led the installation effort. They were punctual in showing up each day, they did a great job of explaining what they were doing and why, and did a fantastic job of cleaning up when they were done. When they had to dig holes, they were good about cutting the sod, moving the dirt to a mat to the side, and replacing it all. Is there some damage? Of course, but this is pretty invasive surgery to run plumbing all over the yard! It was far less disturbance than I expected would be possible. I will use them for ongoing maintenance services and will highly recommend them to neighbors or anyone I know that is in need of irrigation services.

I needed my irrigation system to be overhauled at a 15 year old home I bout a year ago and Global Turf Irrigation sent someone out immediately -- on a Saturday! Travis identified several problems and started to work. One thing lead to another and I found out they also do landscaping and hardscaping -- both services I needed. Walt (the owner of GTI) Dustin, Travis and the crew managed to turn my sad, neglected yard into a real show piece. What was once a muddy, raggedy grass area is now lush turf. What was overgrown or mostly dead shrubs is now a beautiful combination of shrubs, trees and ground cover. I also have a beautiful boulder fountain and incredible, soft lights installed both as up lights on the ground and down lights that are in the trees. I have a 300 foot long driveway where turning around is difficult for those who do not like to back down the steep and winding drive. The guys built an extension using permeable landscape stones which have a very durable decorative grass in the holes - eventually, the grass will fill in and will be sturdy enough to withstand parked cars or vehicles that need to turn around. I cannot begin to say how great these guys were throughout the whole project -- on time and stayed late; worked in the rain - they were dedicated to giving me the very best. Thanks, guys! The job was finished in the projected time frame and the results were more than satisfactory. Came in as budgeted, prompt, courteous, and willing to work until the job was perfect. An absolutely great experience. Walt was extremely responsive to my initial call, and although he had a large job going on at the time, he was able to swing by our house that day. He quickly sized up the issue - which was flooding within one of our irrigation valve boxes - and suggested a course of action, which didn't involve spending a lot of money to fix things that didn't need fixing. Because he wasn't convinced that there was in fact a leak, he suggested holding off and keeping an eye on the situation rather than immediately digging up our yard to find something that may not have been there. This fact alone says a lot about his trustworthiness, and it's greatly appreciated. In addition to the flooded valve box, I requested that he take a look at one of my problematic sprinkler heads, which he quickly cleaned out and replaced a portion of. Responsive, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. That was the experience that I had with Global Turf Irrigation, and I would highly recommend them, and I'll for sure use them again if necessary.

Went very well. They were able to work with our schedule and came out early on a Saturday morning. Very professional and courteous. Our system was in pretty bad shape though with most of the heads needing to be replaced as they were either broken or not turning. Several heads needed to be repositioned. One line was completely severed due to an aerator. He said he could not cover all of the repairs within the price of the tune up, but given the amount of work required i thought the price was reasonable. He spent a significant amount of time doing the repairs and i thought he did a very neat job.

Dustin came to our home on Wednesday 1/25 to inspect our existing sprinkler system that was installed prior to our moving in & we never used. He was very professional & thorough. He found some cracks in an exsisting pipe & valve and repaired them on the spot. When attempting to locate the sprinkler heads in the front yard, he found what was believed to be a leak in the line and because they had an opening the next day, we arranged for he & his team to return then to repair the leak. His team arrived on time & discovered that we actually did not have any lines or heads in our front yard. They then proceeded to install a new system in our front yard including new rain sesnors & a new back flow preventing pipe. The team was great to work with, very knowledgeable & professional. They were even able to find the original backyard system even though it had a deck built over it & repaired it. Both the front & back systems were able to be synced to the exsisting timers & all the work was done swiftly & neatly. We are looking forward to having Dustin & his team back out to help us make our backyard more manageable & possible install a fire pit for us!

Travis showed up even earlier than schedule, waiting outside for me. He carefully diagnosed the system and quickly fixed some minor issues (such as disconnected wire). Follow-up appointment need to be made for further repair. I'm very satisfied by his professionalism and skills. Will definitely hire again.

Travis showed up on time and did a great job. He indicated I did not have a leak and showed me how to tell in the future. He not only adjusted my low heads but also checked and adjusted all the heads. He was very professional and was very friendly.
