"Superior Plumbing was excellent to work with. From the start they stayed in communication, showed up when stated, applied shoe covers when entering our home, were neat while performing the service and fixed the problem very quickly. They were so clean I couldn't tell they were here. Thank you Superior Plumbing!"

"Having owned four different houses the past 16 years, this was hands down the best experience with a plumber... ever. We hired WyattWorks to install a laundry sink (the stainless over cabinet kind) which required drilling through the floor to tie-in with supply and drain pipes in our basement. Jeremy performed the work flawlessly and was a true pro: measure and recheck, plan and dry fit, and clean up the work area during and after. The whole process from start to finish was painless!"

"Overall great work by the team. We hired them to come out and install a drain because my driveway kept pooling water when it rained. So they (really just one guy) installed a catch basin and drain to the backyard. We haven't had a rain since, so can't comment on overall quality yet. But I did wash the driveway and the water went to the backyard. They came in at about half price as another company offering the same work. They came out, quote a good price, and did the work all in about 3 days."

"It’ll my experience with all good plumbing was enjoyable, from the initial call from their dispatch team, to the text notification of their arrival time with active updates, to on site. Jesse and Eric were our techs. They were respectful, professional, and a joy to be around. They diagnosed the main sewer line clog quickly and cleared it with ease. My favorite part was how clean they left my bathroom after they left. The All Good Plumbing Team truly is customer oriented, and my family appreciated that. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I hope to not have another plumbing emergency, but if I do, I’ll be calling ALL Good Plumbing!"

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In some cases, operating a snake can damage your drain and pipes. This depends on the overall condition of your pipes and how gently you operate the auger. For instance, older galvanized pipes covered in zinc are susceptible to scratches when using a drain snake. Additionally, it’s common for newbies to apply too much force when extending the snake, leading to scratches and related damage. You can also crack the porcelain with an electric auger if you’re snaking a toilet drain. If you’re using a manual snake or auger, the risk is minimal.

If you're dealing with a clogged sink drain, you may be able to avoid removing the drain by using a plunger to dislodge the clog. While we associate plungers with toilets, they can do the same job with your sink drain. Be gentle, though, as forceful movements can push clogs further into your plumbing system and make them more difficult to remove. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.

Clean regularly with non-abrasive cleaners, avoid pouring grease down the drain, and check for leaks under the sink.

Boiling water helps unclog a drain, but usually only with a harder abrasive such as baking soda or vinegar. On its own, it isn’t the most effective tool. In addition, you shouldn’t use boiling water if you have PVC pipes, as it can soften or melt them. Use a plunger or enlist the help of a pro if you have plastic pipes.

It is okay to use a drain auger on a toilet, just make sure you are using the correct tip size. The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.
