"We hired Triangle Home Exteriors for a full wrap siding work after reading about them and meeting with Beth in person. Beth was patient and helpful and negotiated with us regarding additional projects and detailed the work in a nice presentation and through the invoices. The gem to her business is Brandon her project manager who helped moved items out of the way and made sure the crew stayed on task and even sometimes took to task himself on the project or brought something to attention when something even a small detail did not look correct, which my daughter respected. All house projects can be a little stressful especially smack dab in the middle of the holiday season like ours was, but 3/4 of the job was done before X-mas, and it turned out well especially the siding color and trim. I would recommend Beth and her crew for your siding needs."

"Following severe storms in our vicinity, our property experienced significant water ingress through the roof and attic, resulting in substantial damage to the ceilings and walls of our guest bedroom. In response, we promptly sought urgent roof inspection services via the HomeAdvisor app. Roofline Xperts of NC swiftly responded to our request, with Chris attending our site the subsequent day. His inspection revealed the absence of numerous shingle panels and identified significant wind damage in other areas of the roof. Upon consultation with our insurance company, immediate authorization was granted for Chris to install an emergency patch, mitigating further damage. Chris coordinated with our insurer's appointed inspector, providing comprehensive documentation and facilitating a thorough assessment of the roof's condition. Consequently, our insurer determined that a complete roof replacement was necessary, with coverage extended for the expenses. Chris promptly scheduled the installation of the new roof, presenting us with available time slots for the following week. The installation crew arrived punctually and completed the project by late afternoon, ensuring a thorough cleanup of the site. Additionally, Chris negotiated a premium warranty upgrade, incorporating the installation of rubberized membranes and synthetic roof runner underlayment. Based on the exceptional service and quality workmanship provided by Chris and Roofline Xperts of NC, we wholeheartedly endorse them for any roofing repair or replacement needs."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Sometimes. Professionals may be able to remove the old roof and re-attach it when completed, depending on your blueprints. That can help you save money. But this method is not without its risks. Larger roofs may crack during the transportation process. And if the roof is old or has problems, it may be better to replace it entirely. Keeping the old roof isn’t always possible if you are making significant alterations to the roofline.

A roof pitch that’s too shallow won’t shed runoff as quickly, so you have an increased risk of water intrusion through the seams between your roofing materials. In colder climates, snow and ice will accumulate more easily on your roof, which can add enough weight to cause roof collapse and structural damage to your home.

You may become so frustrated with the look of moss on your roof that you contemplate whether to clean or replace your roof. Fortunately, you don’t have to go as far as replacing it. After cleaning the moss, you can use a chemical solution to keep it away. For further protection, trim branches that overhang the roof, as fallen seed pods and leaves on the roof allow moisture to collect, encouraging moss growth. Consider adding zinc-coated flashing to the roof, too. As rain washes across the zinc, it leaves zinc particles behind that inhibit moss growth.

An insulated garage benefits from roof vents to ensure proper ventilation and prevent moisture buildup. Insulation can trap moisture in the garage, especially during temperature fluctuations, and roof vents play a crucial role in expelling the moisture in the air. Including roof vents promotes air circulation, preventing condensation and enhancing overall air quality.

You can technically install a metal roof over asphalt shingles, but it isn’t a good idea. This is because you’re essentially creating a moisture barrier under the metal, which can easily—and often does—lead to significant mold damage. Removing an asphalt roof isn’t terribly expensive, and some roofing companies might cut you a serious labor and disposal discount if you add it to a new install.
