"Mr. Jones and his crew did a great job on painting our home. They showed up on time, were professional and did an excellent job both inside and out. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using them again in the future for any other paint jobs we may have."

"Silva's Painting powerwashed my deck, screened porch, and ceiling then came back to paint them. Everything was done perfectly and has held up. I highly recommend David Silva and his crew for excellent work and friendly service. I am so glad he was introduced to me by a friend who would not let anyone else work on his house because of the quality of service. Ben"

"Excellent job painting and staining my new sun porch.  The team was punctual, tidy and finished the job in three days.  The results exceeded my expectations.  I'd use this group again.  Communication was excellent and i couldn't be happier.

"Great service. We needed to have our house and barn stained (cedar siding) and painted (trim). We also needed some carpentry repair. Kelvin walked all over our roof to make sure he identified all of the trim repair needed and gave us a detailed list. He also made certain that the stain he used matched what was put on last time. The end result was excellent. The house looks great and the price was quite reasonable. I highly recommend them."

"We hired Rodas Construction for a roof and decking project. I interviewed several companies before them and they were by far the most professional and knowledgeable contractors. I knew after our first meeting I had to hire them and I don’t regret it. Chris was my point person and he always followed up with me, never late for our appointments and most importantly took his time to carefully explain to me the process and cost. I love the job they did on my roof and deck and would absolutely hire them again!"

Customers say: True professional

"Juan was incredible to work with! I work for a non-profit and partnered Xtreme Painting LLC to stain the outside of a wooden playhouse for one of my clients. He did SUCH a beautiful job, was so responsive, went out of his way to help accommodate both me and the family of my client, and was so knowledgeable. I would love the opportunity to work with him on any other projects that may come up!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

Deciding whether to stain or paint a pool deck depends on your budget, desired look, and the deck's material. Both options can work. Paint offers a wider variety of color options, provides excellent water resistance, and can last longer. However, it requires a primer and can eventually fade or peel. Stain is often cheaper, easier to apply, and penetrates the wood for a more natural look and longer-lasting finish. It also has great water resistance. The downsides are fewer color options and the need for a sealant. The choice can also depend on the deck material; for example, staining may be a better option for concrete as it bonds well and lasts longer than paint.

The staining or painting process involves cleaning the deck, sanding surfaces, applying a primer (if needed), and carefully applying stain or paint for an even, lasting finish.

An exterior paint job typically lasts between 5 and 10 years, though this can range from 3 to 17 years depending on several factors. The longevity is influenced by the quality of the paint and primer, the quality of the application, the local climate, and the type of surface being painted. For example, paint on wood siding may need to be redone every 3 to 7 years, while painted brick can last up to 17 years. Aluminum siding often needs repainting every 5 years.
