"They were great. Showed up on time. (That was important because the first place I called never showed up.) Fixed the problem in a short time. Reasonable cost. Would be my fist call for future repairs."

"Geo and his team recently performed exterior repair work on my home to fix rotting wood along corners and gables. The work was extensive and very detailed. The work was thorough and of the highest quality. We were extremely happy and satisfied with the repairs Geo and his crew performed. The work wasn’t easy, the front of the house sits on a tall sloping hill where ladders need to go. His team handled this wonderfully and kept the landscaping intact. From the initial estimate until the final walk-through Geo was courteous and professional and gave meaningful suggestions about which materials to use and where the issues were. It felt more like a close collaboration than just some “contractors”. It was greatly appreciated. We will definitely be using Geo again for future projects."

"Our roof cleaners discovered a "soft" spot in our roof and some cracked shingles. We finally located the water leaking into the ONLY tiny attic space - SO we hadn't seen any leak in the home yet. Kevin from Mabry came out so quickly, did a full inspection and very realistic assessment of the whole roofing system. It was evident that this was a repair project (UNinsured) rather than roof replacement. Several people on up to Mr. Mabry got involved in determining a realistic estimate and process, while informing us clearly of the UNknowns that would/could come up in the process and how we would deal with them and how they MIGHT price them. They ended up having to do all of those next steps - including rebuilding the whole skylight. We could NOT be happier with the process and the results. Full professional complete job.. Looks fantastic , finished quickly and a fair final price without undue surprises. Will call Mabry first on any future work. Would/Will recommend to anyone."

"Contacted TCH in January of 2015.  They were not the cheapest quote, nor were they the most expensive.  After agreeing to move forward with TCH, we met with ?their? architect and hammered out our vision.  This process took about a month of back and forth.  Ground was broken on Mother?s Day, 2015.  Final inspection passed Nov 13th.
Design ? based on our vision AND within our budget.  Suggestions were made based on TCH professional experience.  Our house has a negative drainage gradient, so moving water away from our house was a primary concern.
Construction ? taking into account our three children and the desire to have our yard not look like a work zone especially on the weekends, no dumpster was placed in our drive way. All trash was removed that day or within a few days. Weather delays held up some aspects of construction.  TCH installed solutions to mitigate the negative drainage gradient, which have proved capable during and after construction.
Interior ? paint, smooth ceilings, new carpet upstairs to match as closely as possible with our existing carpet, new tile in mudroom, removal of existing wood flooring in kitchen and bathroom with new tile in kitchen and bathroom installed.  Lights and ceiling fans installed upstairs, all new hardware installed throughout house.   Built in shelves/bench in mudroom and shelves in laundry room and linen closet.
Exterior ? Removal of existing deck and trellis, basic landscaping (grading) after foundation completed; with shrubs and grass seed planted at completion of project.  Installed matching vinyl siding, gutters, windows (with screens), shutters, and replaced two existing exterior doors.  Matched shingles to blend with existing shingles.
Overall ? very positive experience.  We would and have recommended TCH to our friends.  The two issues we had were addressed and fixed to meet our expectation. We worked primarily with Ralph. Confident, professional, but not a ?know-it-all.?  Ralph encouraged an open dialogue which was important to us.  While we had our ideas/visions Ralph would advise if it was realistic or what might be an alternative option to explore.
Advice to homeowner ? have patience.  Delays are inevitable and in some cases way beyond their control, you?ll find if you are nice to the contractor, he?ll be nice to you.

"Carlos was excellent. He re-screened 5 tattered window screens for me and placed them back into the window. He gave me a fair quote. Showed up when he said he would. Went above and beyond. Great work. Would highly recommend Carlos and this company."

FAQs for range hood service projects in Durham, NC

The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.

Typically, most appliances last anywhere from 10 to 15 years, depending on the appliance, brand, and amount of use. Keeping a regular maintenance schedule, including cleaning and tune-ups, also helps appliances last longer. Dryers, gas stoves, and refrigerators tend to last the longest, averaging about 13 to 15 years. Microwaves and dishwashers tend to last about 10 years on average.

Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.

The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.
