Peak Energy performed an energy audit that identified the issue and then sealed our attic (in the middle of a summer heat wave, no less) in 2 days. The team was professional and punctual and the discrepancy in our temperatures between the two floors went from >5 degrees to <2 degrees."

"Blaze acquired Comfort Master, the company that originally installed my HVAC unit 8 years ago. So, I hired them for an annual inspection. They told me the heat exchange unit was cracked and needed to be replaced. The part was still under warranty. They quoted me a price of $2,600 for the labor. I asked how long the job would take and the tech said 3-5 hours. That is $650/hour! I told them I would get someone else to look at it. I then said I needed a thermostat installed and I had the item. They quoted me $500 for a 15 minute job to hook it up. These prices were absolutely crazy to me. The second company I brought in agreed the heat exchanger was cracked and said it was probably due to improper installation. Before he left, the tech told me about a plan for $349/year for an annual inspection of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. I agreed to buy that, as that was a good deal versus what you would normally pay for all 3 separately. A few weeks later they sent a tech over for the electrical inspection. I started getting concerned after he told me 4 times how frugal he was personally. I was right. He gave me a list of things that needed fixing totaling over $10,000. I then contacted my regular electrician and gave him the list. He recommended only 2 items on it costing under $500. Be very wary of Blaze, they gouge and do unnecessary work."

Southern Energy Management
Southern Energy Management
Southern Energy Management is the Southeast's rooftop solar and building performance expert. We're a team of over 150 building scientists, solar professionals, and entrepreneurs dedicated to improving the way the world makes and uses energy. Based out of North Carolina, we offer energy efficiency, green building and turn-key solar services for homeowners, builders, and companies across the country. With nearly 20 years of experience, we have the expertise and proven process to provide a seamless project and positive customer experience. For more information, visit www.southern-energy.com.
"Work has been scheduled for early in 2019, but they could not have been more helpful and professional in explaining our options, how our home would get the most out of the panels, and how much we are likely to save. They were explicit about costs and available rebates. We were instructed to apply for a rebate from our local energy supplier and they literally walked us through the time specific rebate procedure. We made some minor changes to their standard contract and they accepted those changes without question. I can only assume their work will be up to these standards when we do the actual installation."

Triangle Reconstruction
Triangle Reconstruction
Triangle Reconstruction is a specialty contractor specializing in crawl spaces. We solve crawl space moisture problems, remediate mold hazards and repair foundations. At TRC, we adhere to philosophies and values that differentiate us from all others. Our customers always come first. Excellence in craftsmanship and service are our top priorities. Our goal is to deliver QUALITY products and service at the most competitive prices.
"Be careful dealing with Triangle Reconstruction. Rob, the owner comes off as humble, honest and sincere, but if something goes wrong watch out ! I hired Triangle Reconstruction back in the winter to repair the foundation at my house. This was a very large project of which I had paid him about a third. On January 11 they caused a fire at my house burning down my kitchen. Rob was very apologetic at first, but when I told him I wanted another company to finish the project he said I owed him a lot of money for the work they did and he claimed that they had completed %80 of the job. Fortunately, I had a reputable structural engineer come out to inspect my foundation before they started working on my house and then I had him come back after the fire. The engineer stated only 1/3 of the work had been completed - if that much ! Rob also threatened to file a stop work order if I did not let him bring ‘his engineer’ out to look at it. I understand accidents happen and against the advice of many people I was actually willing to give him the opportunity to finish the job and try to help rectify the situation. However Rob’s estimate to finish was nowhere close to being equitable and provided no consideration for the hardship he has caused in my life. His estimate even included money owed for work they did in the kitchen which was burnt in the fire that they caused ! He clearly doesn’t understand the gravity of this and what my family and I have gone through and what we’re still going through. We have been out of our house for almost 5 months now and probably won’t be able to move back in for another month or two. My family has suffered tremendously due to this company’s negligence."

IES is an approved contractor for Duke Energy Progress & Advanced Energy. IES is a member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. Our EcoSmart products and services make your home more energy efficient, with improved air quality, reduced carbon footprint and improved resale value. IES provides energy audits, air quality assessments, and EcoSmart Products and Services. IES provides mold remediation, lead abatement, and radon mitigation. IES installs breakthrough technology with radiant barrier crawl spaces and attics. IES is exclusive dealer for CleanSeal; non-toxic mold coating, which has a life time warranty. IES can retrofit your home to make it more energy efficient, with improved air and water quality.
"If I could I would give this company 0 stars. They are not honest and totally misrepresent their work in a highly unethical, illegal manner. They utilize fear mongering sales tactics to rope you in and charge astronomical prices for work that they do (in reality don't do). They are very good at this shady sales tactic. We contracted with Indoor Environmental Systems (IES) for several projects and ended paying almost $100,000 when all was said and done. Because of the issues we have experienced as detailed below, I am going to utilize an independent inspector to review all of the work that IES has done for us to make sure the rest is legit, safe and performed as contracts indicate. One of the projects was for 'Closed Crawl Space Repairs'. The scope of work detailed: Ground & foundation walls covered using insulation liner; Foam/foil (150mil) radiant barrier - Provides moisture, radon & temperature control. The main intent for these repairs was to eliminate (at the least reduce) radon. The IES salesman indicated that their process will 'most likely eliminate the radon completely' but that there was a small chance it would not and in that case we would need to contact a radon mitigation company. The completed work had zero impact on the radon levels, so I reached out to a radon mitigation company. They came and did their inspection and informed me the product used by IES is not safe for crawlspaces and does nothing to help with the control of radon. Not only is it highly flammable (they showed me by holding a lighter up to the material and it instantly combusted) but is also against building code ASTE E1745-11 CLASS A, B, C. I contacted IES with this information and was provided with a link to a general product page [*** Link removed ***] by the owner Stephen McLeoud. Nowhere on this page, or any of the specific product detail pages is there any mention of radon, let alone being able to control radon as the scope of work indicates. In a very poor attempt to further divert from being held responsible/liable, Mr. McLeoud also sent me this link: [*** Link removed ***] He stated, "When reviewing the HOW TO INSULATE A CRAWL SPACE refer to Benefits of Prodex Total Insulation In Crawlspaces, find #7 which states radon resistant." This link talks about sealing the ceiling with the product that was used, however our ceiling wasn't sealed. And using Prodex Total Under Concrete for the floors, which wasn't used on our project and is specific for being used under concrete slabs. Therefore, the statement of being radon resistant is false. Important to note that I tried contacting insulation4less.com (sole distributor of the product used) multiple times over several days to get feedback from them. It went straight to some sketch voicemail every time and I have yet to receive any call back. I even tried to contact the product manufacturer and their phone number is disconnected, and their is no email address on the website. Crazy..."
