"Wonderful, it was a very quick and easy process. Brian talked us through it and in no time we had a 3KW system mounted on a frame in the garden and the invertor installed in the basement. Brian talked us through working with our power company to get the system checked and approved and we now get credits from the power company for power we provide to the grid. In addition we are set up to get Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) payments for providing clean energy. We also got a free Energy Audit which helped locate some problems areas we were able to fix. The system has basically cut our energy costs in half. I have hesitation in recommending them to anyone interested in solar energy."
"They did a great job. They were very professional, knew what they were doing, and gave suggestions for minimizing energy costs. I was very happy with the service."

"Purchased the Big Deal Whole Home Energy Evaluation and Thermal Camera Scan. The folks from Triangle Reconstruction arrived promptly and presented themselves in a professional manner. They performed the services outlined in the big deal and addressed a number of questions I had related to energy efficiency. The thermal scan found a number of areas in my home that were allowing cold air to penetrate. They provided recommendations on how to seal or insulate those leaky areas. They addressed every area inside the home including bonus room eves and attic. They were also kind enough to address some concerns I had related to my walk-in crawl space. They provided a report the next day that contained thermal pictures and normal pictures of the areas being penetrated by cold air. Overall I had a very pleasant experience with Triangle Reconstruction and would do business with them again. "

"Good, PSNC came to inspect their work and several areas had to have more re-insulation added that was missed on the day of work. Emerald returned on a Sat. to complete this work and the paperwork completed so that I got an energy rebate from PSNC."

Yes, including optimizing settings and suggesting upgrades if needed.
Typically, a local home energy auditor is responsible for performing energy audits. A home energy auditor will conduct one of three energy audits designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to determine the energy efficiency of your home. The auditor often provides analysis that can help guide changes and improvements to your home for better energy efficiency, giving recommendations as necessary.
Motion-sensor lights use one watt while on standby and five watts while turned on. They’re usually on for one hour over a 24-hour period, bringing the total wattage to about 28 watts per day. LED lights use around 6.5 to 8 watts while on. If you leave an LED light on all night, with night ranging from 10 to 14 hours, you’re looking at using 65 to 112 watts a night. You can minimally cut your wattage in half by switching to a motion-sensor light.
The three levels of home energy audits include:
Level 1: Review of your energy bills and home for signs of energy inefficiency and areas for improvement. The average cost range is $0.08 to $0.12 per square foot.
Level 2: A level 2 ASHRAE energy audit costs $0.12 and $0.35 per square foot. In-depth analysis of your energy usage and provides a report of cost-saving changes.
Level 3: Comprehensive analysis and detailed recommendations for ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency. A level 3 audit costs about $0.36 to $0.50 per square foot.
Blower door tests are measured in a few different ways, but the most popular are air changes per hour (ACH) and cubic feet of air (CFM) moving through the house per hour. A good ACH score is less than 2ACH, but 1ACH is better. This means the house experiences a total air change within 60 minutes (for 1ACH). For 2ACH, there’s a complete change every 30 minutes, and so on. CFM scores are similar in that a lower score means less air change, and therefore less leakage.
