"I had all of my gutters replaced. Some areas are quite high and difficult to reach. Eric at Copper Works called very soon after my request, was prompt with his estimate and follow up, polite, professional and knowlegable. The same could be said of the crew who arrived on time, finished the work in a timely manner and cleaned up thoroughly. I would definitely recommend them!"

Small jobs welcome

"Fast installion, looks great, only flaw the weather on some of the windows were chipped from something, they sent replacement strip were suppose to come out to fix but never did, however around the sametime owner suffered personal lost so tried to be understanding but windows in now over a year. Also windows not sound proof can hear kids next door playing outside, was kind of surprised by that since double paned energy efficient windows. They even installed my storm door on the back of the house for me that I bought from lowes and it's an excellent condition. The gutters they put in excellent could not complain about them. The pitch had to be adjusted one time other than that they're in great shape. I just installed a leaf filter guard on top of them and they're working wonderfully and look great."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

The gutter gauge is a measurement of the thickness of the gutter material. If you have gutters that are too thick and heavy for the screws and brackets holding them in place, they may sag. Materials that are too thin could suffer damage that leads to sagging. A professional gutter installer can ensure you have the right gutter gauge.

If you don't want to install gutter guards, the most common and inexpensive alternative is regular gutter cleaning, either annually, biannually, or as soon as they start to fill up. Using a leaf blower attachment can make this process easier. Other products designed to reduce cleanings include gutter screens (made of wire mesh, nylon, or foam), which are typically less expensive than a full gutter guard installation. You can also find guards and inserts designed specifically to protect your downspouts or opt for a whole gutter system like LeafGuard, which integrates the gutter and guard into a single product.

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.

Yes, gutter repair is almost always worth the investment. Some homeowners believe that gutter repairs are only to improve the home’s curb appeal, but gutters play a pivotal role in protecting your foundation from damage and structural instability, and they also prevent water damage to your soffits, fascia, roof, and exterior walls. You will pay an average of around $400 to have your gutters professionally repaired, but it’s worth it even for the peace of mind of knowing that one of your largest investments is adequately protected from the elements.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.
