"Allen Santone owes me $4580 dollars. I was awarded a civil judgement against him that he has made no attempt to date to pay. Allen's company was hired to replace older wooden decking and railing with Trex. I paid $6838 upfront to cover demo and $3488 of that for the Trex decking. Similar to the negative reviews below and on Angie's List Allen quoted a total of $9838 for the entire job on a very vague contract then began asking for additional money after demolition left the deck unusable. Initially, I was asked for additional money to address wood rot on the frame and joists of the original deck. This was not completely unexpected due to its age. Allen then came back and asked for additional money stating that the joists were not level, another similarity to one of the negative posts below. After significant delays, my goal was to get the job finished as I had already paid a significant amount of money to Allen and his company. At this point Allen tried to convince me to hire his company to construct a retaining wall, which I declined and simply asked that he finish the job I had paid for. After declining his services to construct a retaining wall several more times and insisting that he do the work he'd been paid for he then told me that his "connection" who he normally gets materials for $1000 from could not be located and that the total for materials was now over $10,000. If you recall I paid for materials upfront. By this time we were several months beyond the start of the project. Since the contract that work was being executed against was a fixed price contract I was not willing to pay the additional cost for materials. At that point Allen stated that he was only willing to issue me a partial refund of $2400 which didn't even cover the money I had paid for materials that were NEVER DELIVERED. I requested that Allen return half of what I had paid him, which I thought was more than fair since he was the one breaking the contract. He refused. I ended up filing a claim against him in South Carolina's small claims court for which I was awarded $4580. I had to hire a whole new company to not only finish the work but also address issues that I had paid Allen and his company for. I also ended up purchasing materials twice since Allen took money for materials that he never ordered or delivered and refused to refund payment for."

"Updated as of September 15,2025 1 star!!!! Riley contacted me regarding the honest review I left. She explained “her feelings were hurt”. With a Marketing Manager overlooking the truth of a review, but instead worrying about herself says a lot! She wanted me to changed her review as she said everyone would ask for a reduction. In my original honest review; I never stated there was a discount or even now I’m not stating it. What I am saying is NO appreciation was given even after I pointed that out to her!!!! Avoid the “model” home sales approach. As that is the true meaning of them gaining sales. It’s the marketing line they give to secure a sale. Legacy - no employee should contact a customer and ask them to change a review!!!! Poor business practices! She has cost you on your ratings! 1 star UPDATED - 5 stars to 3 stars! Riley sold us on a "model home" in your area, and only one home can be such. She stated she would touch base very often, and would place a "sign" in the yard until the windows had been completed. Riley stated she would work along side of the window installation team the day of installation. She was NO where to be found! After Riley left my home from the initial showing of the windows; I did not hear from her again. I had to call her 3 days before the new windows were scheduled to arrive, and verify delivery date was still set. RIley - I feel like you did the "old bait and switch...bs lines" with you keeping quiet after the contract was signed, and "model home" in the area bs. Legacy Home Remodeling you offer a great product...which I am still happy with. The instillation team was amazing and quick! The new windows look amazing, and completely transformed the rental property. BUT... your sales people and the lack of communication or appreciation towards the customer is HORRIBLE! So Riley, has cost your company 3 stars as she is a part of it. Customers should feel valued and respected! They should not feel as it was just about a sale and silence. *****OLD REVIEW while Riley was still sitting in my home*** Riley is amazing! "Fairly small job to repair and touch up a leak where a roof extension connects to my house. Showed up as scheduled for the estimate and the work. He had to come back because a heavy rainstorm came. Returned as scheduled and completed the work. Touched up the paint, more than just the bit that was repaired. As you may know, sometimes it can be difficult to get a response for smaller jobs, so I appreciated the good service!"
