"This company aims to please. We were so impressed with how they presented themselves and in explaining what was going to be done and the time frame it was expected to be completed. The work required was a total remodel of an older home. The owner offered suggestions and recommendations with allowing us to choose. We selected a paint color that was not what we expected and he repainted the walls at no extra charge. Excellent customer service. Just courteous and professional at all times."

"Dave and Deb Broadbent were professional, and they did a great job. They went above and beyond, as we had work done inside to our home prior to Platinum Painting coming in to do the outside. We were on dead line to finish right before the rental season began, Deb said she had no problem finishing up dry wall touches and painting after inside piping was replaced. what happened was the inside dry way replacement became an immense job and somehow Platinum stepped up worked around the clock over the weekend to finish now the added on job of inside and out. Our home looks incredible and i can't say enough about the work, the job and the stepping up to help us out without notice and getting the job done! thanks to Deb and Dave and their entire team of great workers the Haskins"

"Augustine, Greg, CJ, and crew were phenomenal! They made sure to explain next steps and offer walk through as after every step of the project. They were very efficient and respectful of our property. The clean up was also fantastic- other than the expected debris there was no sign they were drilling holes, cutting pipes, or pouring concrete! I will 100% recommend JES to anyone needing foundation repair. Our worries were gone and our problems were fixed in a day and a half. Thank you!"

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

While vinyl is the least costly material for building a retaining wall, the most cost-effective method is to use wood or concrete blocks for a DIY retaining wall under 2 feet tall. Wood is inexpensive but lasts 20 years or more with care. Concrete can cost a little more but is stronger and will last longer with less maintenance.

Sand and gravel are two suitable options for filling behind a retaining wall. If you’re building your own retaining wall, you’ll complete this part of the process—known as backfilling—after you finish laying the blocks. Make sure not to skip it—otherwise, you could wind up with drainage issues, which can cause your retaining wall to collapse.

If you don’t backfill a retaining wall—either at all or adequately enough—the wall won’t drain well, and water will be able to pass through it. Poor drainage will lead to a warped wall or a buildup of hydrostatic pressure, which can eventually collapse your retaining wall. If you have particularly sloped land, consult a structural engineer to ensure your hardscaping is adding value to your home.

Rebar is a steel support that goes inside concrete to prevent structural damage over time. Concrete is susceptible to impact, weight, and tension. By inserting rebar into the concrete during the installation, you can help extend its lifespan and avoid hazardous situations where the foundation of your home gives way to tensile forces.

Regular inspection for issues like cracks or leaning and ensuring drainage stays clear.
