"If anyone is looking to finish their garage or detached garage and loft you should consider securing Silas and his team! They are professional, punctual and dedicated to getting the job done RIGHT and most importantly, to your liking! He and his team did our insulation, drywall, paint, baseboards, and flooring! Silas communicates each day his comings, goings, and next steps. He and his team worked long hours to get the job done and we could not be happier with how our project turned out! He even, hung the curtains over the steps as we would not have been able to do it ourselves! I highly recommend Silas C. Drywall!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Allen is very reliable, responsible and skilled, completing work from carpentry to painting, in my home. He did an amazing job on a multitude of projects - He installed two wood handrails, hand cut pickets, and put in a wood post. In addition to this, he installed a garage hook, stain painted my outdoor deck, resealed the silicone around the glass of the shower, sealed my garage floor, fixed baseboards and shoe molding, installed bathroom hooks, and replaced the chipped tile in my shower. I highly recommend his services and would definitely hire him again. Lastly, Tabatha does a great job of scheduling."

"We needed to remove linoleum flooring and install LV flooring in guest bathroom and install new toilets in guest and master bathroom. Work was done efficiently and professionally. We have other projects in mind for Carlos and his team in the future. Carlos is great at communicating via text before and after the project."

"Randy arrived on time and quickly got started at the task at hand. He was very neat, and careful not to damage anything on the inside of the house. The final result was better than I hoped. I would not hesitate to use Mr. Handyman again."

"When I posted my repair job on Angi, I received a response right away from Pivot Anesthetics. Jason rearranged his schedule to meet my schedule and came out the same day to assess my job. I hired Jason right away because of this mannerism and professionalism. We set up a date for the repairs,Jason was right on time. I also ask Jason if he could also repair & re-grout my front patio he did'nt hesitate to take on that job too. Jason's work ethics were great. He got all repairs done in one day! I was so impressed with the great job he did, my drywall job and patio looks great, the patio looks brand new. His work was excellent! I will definitely hire Jason & his team again. I highly recommend Pivot Anesthetics! Thank you Jason for as job very well done!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Plaster can be a difficult DIY to master, especially if you plan to plaster an entire room, rather than patch a small area. Before you begin a plaster DIY project, you need to know which tools and type of plaster to use. It's also important to know how to prepare the surface and apply the plaster for a smooth finish. If that all sounds like a lot of work, you may prefer hiring a local plaster repair contractor to do the job.

A 50-pound mirror can be hung on drywall, but only if it has the support of strong hardware. Ideally, you can find the studs behind the drywall and attach the mirror to them; this will give your mirror better stability. Otherwise, confirm that you are using anchors appropriate to the weight of the mirrors. Another technique is to use French cleats—two pieces of wood that fit together, with one piece attached to the wall and the other to the mirror. This allows the weight to be distributed over a wider area.

Cracks, water damage, and holes from fixtures or impact.

If you plan on heating your garage, you must install a vapor barrier when drywalling the garage. A vapor barrier protects your garage from frost and mold that can occur through condensation. If your garage is unheated, you don't need to install a vapor barrier. The only exception is if you regularly crank the heat in your car before getting in it. In this case, you may still want to install a vapor barrier, as your car can heat your garage.

Costs range from $500 to $5,000, depending on damage size, labor, and finishing requirements.
