"We have called on Mikey's Sewer Solutions 2 times this year regarding 2 different issues with our home. He came out quickly each time, was able to determine the issue, fix it and the charges were very reasonable. Highly recommend! Christine and Bobby Harrison"

"I had a clog in my kitchen sink and took apart the p-trap and other pipes under the sink to try to clear the clog. It was obvious the problem was down somewhere in my waste pipe. I called All About and they had Ben come out the next day. Ben tried to access the drain pipe from the basement clean-out, but that thing hadn't been opened up in years and was rusted shut. Ben was able to get a snake down from the top and clear the drain. He was initially afraid maybe the drain pipe down to the sewer line was rusted through. He inspected it and said the pipe was actually in decent shape. When Ben put everything back together he realigned some of the pipes under the sink that were a bit wonky and relocated my dishwasher hose to drain better. Ben was kind, thorough, professional, and tidy. All About will always be my plumbing company!"

"Mr. Gomez came to inspect our issue the day after I called. He appeared on time, inspected the area, took measurements, and recommended an inside French drain around three perimeters of our house--about 130 feet. He was very personable and took time to answer all of our questions. He buried one gutter downspout and tied it into the sump pump drain line extending it out an extra 40 feet from the house. We also requested he bury a 2nd downspout and extend it 50 feet from the house. A driveway drain in front of a garage door on the 4th side of the house was also added. He and his men arrived as promised and completed the job in 3 days. They prepared the area by wrapping all furniture, etc. in plastic before starting work. Concrete floors were also covered in plastic. The first day jack hammers rocked the house as they used them to chip up a foot wide channel in the concrete to make room for laying the Waterguard system. After the first day, all other work was quiet and quick. They were able to bury the drain lines outside and replace grass so that no evidence of any digging is even apparent without close inspection--amazing!!! Everything was completely cleaned up inside afterwards with no need to even vacuum. We consulted 5 companies before contracting with Uneven Floors. Not only was the system he installed comparable to what the others recommended, but was several thousand dollars cheaper. We have not had a hard rain to test the system, but water poured into the installed channel went to the sump pump so I would be highly surprised if it doesn't work as promised. As others have indicated in reviews, Mr. Gomez is very quick to respond to calls and emails. I would highly recommend this company."

"We asked David to help us determine if we had a water problem in our basement. We live in a 100+ year old house that has a history of water damage and disruption in a French drain system. Before investing in thousands of dollars of work that David’s company could have benefitted from, we wanted an expert opinion. David has an engineering background and lots of experience with foundations, water control solutions, and crawlspaces/basements. He did a thorough inspection, reassured us that there was no problem, answered a lot of questions, and pointed out a few additional things we could do to further protect our home from water. None of which resulted in business for him. He spent 45 mins with us. He’s down to earth, practical, knowledgeable, and ethical. A great combination in a contractor!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"I needed a long-neglected, weed-impacted flower bed totally cleaned out and new topsoil added to prepare the area for spring planting. The bed looks wonderful! The workers left my adjacent sidewalks spotlessly clean and they removed all debris. Secondly, I’ve had yard drains installed by others and needed ZR to grade the surrounding areas to funnel rainwater toward the drains. Finally, I needed 7 plantings and some mulching for definition. I could not have been more pleased with the work performed. I will use this company for all my future landscaping needs and will recommend to others. These are very nice, hardworking people who care about the quality of their work."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Clogged pipes are one of the top signs your water heater is about to fail. Potential symptoms of excess sediment buildup include not enough hot water, leaks, unusual noises, low water pressure, and discoloration or odors in the water.

Anything you drop down your sink runs the risk of damaging and clogging your pipes. Hair, bits of food, and other debris can catch on the item and build up over time, causing a clog. Even if it’s not valuable, it’s definitely worth trying to retrieve the item, or at the very least, asking a pro for specific advice.

A saturated leach field can result from various underlying issues, so it's best to call a professional septic company to diagnose and treat the problem. Depending on the cause of the saturation, potential fixes include pumping out a full septic tank, adding more bacteria to the tank, or regrading the soil to fix low spots. It may also be necessary to reroute rainwater and runoff away from the leach field using gutters, downspouts, and extenders. Once the primary issue is resolved, planting specific types of vegetation over the area can help absorb excess water. In more severe cases, you might need to install a larger septic tank or replace the leach field entirely.

There are several homemade solutions for clearing a clogged sink that don’t involve pouring harsh chemicals down your drain. Start by pouring hot (but not boiling) water down the drain. This can help dissolve and flush away grease and gunk. A splash of dish soap down the drain can also cut through fat and make it easier to clear the drain. For a more stubborn blockage, grab a plunger and give it a few firm pumps to dislodge the clog.

If you're dealing with a clogged sink drain, you may be able to avoid removing the drain by using a plunger to dislodge the clog. While we associate plungers with toilets, they can do the same job with your sink drain. Be gentle, though, as forceful movements can push clogs further into your plumbing system and make them more difficult to remove. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.
