This was a difficult job - 3 story house, bevel cedar siding and shakes, steep roof covered in solar panels, multiple gables, 4 different colors. The best paint to prevent mold on bathroom walls is one with a glossy sheen. If you choose a satin or semi-gloss finish for a humid room such as a bathroom, its hard surface will deflect moisture rather than absorb it the way a matte or eggshell paint might. Glossy paint has the bonus of being easy to clean, which is a useful feature in a bathroom.

You can technically just paint over hairline cracks in plaster since these cracks are often harmless, but this will mostly be a waste of paint. Paint will only hide the hairline crack for a few months before it shows up again. The best solution is to repair the crack with flexible filler or joint compound before repainting.

It may be possible to touch up with leftover paint, but don’t consider it Plan A. Even if the can is sealed, older paint may change color or consistency over time, especially if stored in fluctuating temperatures. Stir thoroughly and test in a discrete area first. If the paint looks noticeably different when dry, it’s better to get a fresh match using the code or color name on the can.

You technically can paint wires in a basement ceiling, but there are several important safety and code considerations. It's safe to paint non-metallic sheathed cable as long as the labeling remains visible. You can also paint low-voltage wires and conduit and junction boxes to help them blend into your basement. 

However, you should not paint damaged or deteriorated wiring is a fire hazard because it poses a fire hazard. The same goes for painting over high-heat wires that connect to heat-generating appliances or systems. Be sure to avoid painting multiple coats onto any wires, as that traps heat and poses fire risks.

It’s best to use an exterior latex acrylic paint to promote maximum adhesion to composite decking. This flexible paint type can better cope with the natural expansion and contraction that can occur with composite deck boards. Oil-based paints won’t adhere as effectively and are more likely to crack and peel as the boards flex. Testing whether your chosen paint will stick on an inconspicuous section or a spare board is a good idea.
