Customers say: Super punctual

"Wilson, Angel and their teams were amazing. Fair priced always on time and did an amazing job. They painted two cabin interiors and exteriors, trim and several patios. They always got the job done quicker than what was quoted and I will be using them again. Great group of guys. I am happy to supply them a reference whenever needed."

"After consulting several contractors, we chose Dario and his crew at Custom Painting of Asheville to power wash, paint and clean-up of our 2-story home located on a steep slope. We are very pleased with their 5-star outstanding job. They are professionals who are hardworking, friendly and courteous. They are also fearless as they scaled some of the tallest ladders I’ve ever seen. Dario is very easy to work with. He will listen to your requests and comes through on his promises. The quality of their work is something you can be proud of at a very reasonable price."

"The crew painted the interior of my whole apartment including walls, ceilings, doors, and trims. They did a great job in preparation and execution. The apartment now looks new. Their price, I think, is reasonable. It was a great experience working with them."

"The outside of our house we purchased had not been painted in 15 to 20 years. We called Calico for a description of work to be done and price. I was not only impressed with how knowledgeable the company owner was of paints and and all painting related materials. but also his willingness to work with us throughout the project. Calico Painting did and excellent job, of repairing, scraping, priming and painting of our home. Attention to detail was first rate. Our newly painted house looks beautiful. A great job at a fair price. I would hire Calico Company without hesitation. I would be happy to have anyone who wishes to come to our house and see for themselves how great it looks."

"Infinity colors is amazing! They are prompt and courteous and did amazing jobs on what I needed them to do. Their attention to detail was remarkable and I am having them back to paint my front porch, kitchen, living room, foyer and a wall leading down to the first floor of my house. I cannot recommend them *highly enough*. if you are looking for quality, professionalism, courteous treatment and excellent rates, then you need to discuss your needs with Infinity Colors. You will certainly not be disappointed. I can be a bit difficult to please, and they excelled in handling my expectations. If you need paint work done then these are the guys to do it."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

With patience, you can often save a dried paintbrush. Soak the bristles overnight and clean the brush as you would any other time. You'll likely have to repeat the cleaning steps, including soaking, more than once.

Most spray paints are oil-based, meaning you will need a solvent to dissolve them, like paint thinner, lacquer thinner, or acetone. While solvents can be useful in removing paint, they are also very flammable and require the use of a respirator. Beyond that, these products may smear paint and cannot be used on all surfaces.

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

WD-40 can help remove paint on wood floors, but use it cautiously. Start with a small amount and let it sit for a few minutes, then gently scrape the paint off using a plastic (not metal) scraper. You may want to test it first on a hidden area to ensure it doesn't damage the finish. Professional products specifically designed for hardwood may be a better choice for large or stubborn paint spots.

You can sand paint off a wall. However, it's difficult and time-consuming. Depending on why you wish to remove the paint, there are simpler ways to achieve similar results. Scraping off any loose paint and applying a skim coat is the most common way to hide a damaged wall or paint job.
