Small jobs welcome

"Cory and his crew did an excellent job at my home. They installed additional insulation in my attic, cleaned out my dryer vent, cleaned out my gutters and unclogged 13 years' worth of soil and tree debris from my downspout. They did all of this in about 2 hours for a reasonable price and were friendly and professional. I would hire them again and I highly recommend them!ð"

"I highly recommend JR Remodeling!! I would definitely have him back for future tiling jobs. He's a perfectionist and gets the job done in no time at all. I was skeptical about hiring someone I didn't know but I hit the jackpot with him! The best part is you get a professional tile job without that price that breaks the bank. Very reasonable!! Absolutely so pleased with his work! "

"I have been working with GCC for the past 6 months. They are professional, hand-on with their team and reverent in the homes they repair. We have used them to manage renovations as well as minor repairs. They have repaired everything except major electrical issues. Additionally, they have had to "come behind" the work of other vendors we have used and have seamlessly integrated a finished product each time! I highly recommend them as contractors, carpentry experts, great partners for Home Renovation and Repair!"

"They did a great job from the salesman to the roofers. Everything the salesman told me (and he went thru everything that would be done, step by step) was done from the materials being dropped off the day before to the clean up after the roof was done. I hope I don.t ever need it but the 50 year / unlimited wind guarantee isnice and it's even transferable if i ever want to move"

"The process was smooth and only took about a week from first contact to completion. The end result is beautiful. The slab I selected was not large enough for a backsplash and the owner Iago suggested matching subway tile as the most cost efficient way to complete the project, which I appreciated. The only glitch was that the installation was a day later than scheduled which threw off a dishwasher installation schedule. Overall I am very satisfied with the outcome. I will definitely contact Iago again when i get to the bathroom remodel!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

You should always use caulk instead of grout where the tile meets the wall. This will help your tile installation look great and last a long time. When you accidentally use grout for the corner seams, you end up making the tiles too rigid. So as the wall shifts over time, your tiles have no wiggle room. This can lead to tile damage, which will eventually require you to do at least a partial reinstallation.

Updating your backsplash without removing the tile is possible in a couple of different ways. First, you can remove the old grout and replace it with new grout to give your backsplash a fresh look. You can also change the grout color, which can have a surprisingly large impact on the final appearance of the backsplash. Finally, you can paint the original tile to totally change the look of the backsplash without removing it.

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

You can use sanded or unsanded grout for a shower pan, but sanded grout isn’t the best option for shower walls. For those areas, you’ll want to use unsanded grout, which works well on vertical surfaces and is less likely to slump than sanded grout. Alternatively, you can use epoxy grout for shower walls.

Like any painted surface, tile paint can peel and chip over time. However, tile paint can become especially susceptible to peeling during periods of high humidity. Other sources of excess moisture will also cause tile paint to peel faster than normal. And if the tiles are in a high-traffic area, like the entryway floor, tile paint will chip and peel faster.
