"Ruben's Tree Service did a perfect job of trimming the ivy from the brick on our house. We needed some of the ivy trimmed for painting, but we didn't want complete removal of the vines. He and his team were able to complete the job exactly as specified. The job was done quickly and so neatly--all of the left over clippings were hauled away. Will definitely hire again."

Small jobs welcome

"Grind and Gone Stump Grinding were amazing and if I ever need additional help with tree limbs, stumps or small trees they will be the first people I will call. Randy McKown was so professional and did an A plus job. I have already sent a copy of his card to a friend who may need his services. There are not enough accolades for great work. Thanks many times over. Ginny Fowler"

"I could have not been more pleased with Mr Maurer. In grinding the stump a possible serious problem arose. He searched until the problem was solved. His work was exemplary. The area looked a lot better when he was through. I would highly recommend Mr Maurer based on my experience."

"I would definitely recommend them. We had three trees removed and stumps ground down. They were here on time, polite and did an excellent job. I will use them again if I am in need of tree removal again."

"Excellent! Outstanding work. Excellent team of workers. Initially had contracted for removal of 3 very large trees. After completing the work, decided to have an additional 2 large trees cut down. Followed instructions and moved the cut up tree pieces to exactly where I wanted them. Very highly recommended. Will be using them in the near future for sure"

"Hired to trim trees. Employees were friendly, answered any questions about the work, and shaped the trees properly. They came when scheduled, did not request any payment until the work was completed and I was satisifed with the work."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

Common signs that a tree is rotting include dead branches, a leaning trunk, peeling or cracked bark, leaf discoloration, and the presence of fungi. If you notice any of these signs, it’s best to hire an arborist near you to inspect your tree and determine if it can be saved or if it needs to come down.

Yes, healthy and well-placed large trees can boost property value by an average of 3% to 15%. They improve curb appeal, offer energy savings through shade and wind protection, and are often considered by appraisers during home valuation. On the flip side, removing dead or hazardous trees can also increase value by eliminating safety risks. For the biggest return, choose low-maintenance, native species that thrive in your climate.

Tree roots are hearty and complex systems, so they don’t die immediately after the rest of the tree is removed. If you leave the root system in place, it takes anywhere from two to seven years for it to run out of nutrients. It is worth noting, however, that the roots stop growing and expanding after cutting down the rest of the tree.
