"Ruben's Tree Service did a perfect job of trimming the ivy from the brick on our house. We needed some of the ivy trimmed for painting, but we didn't want complete removal of the vines. He and his team were able to complete the job exactly as specified. The job was done quickly and so neatly--all of the left over clippings were hauled away. Will definitely hire again."

Small jobs welcome

"Grind and Gone Stump Grinding were amazing and if I ever need additional help with tree limbs, stumps or small trees they will be the first people I will call. Randy McKown was so professional and did an A plus job. I have already sent a copy of his card to a friend who may need his services. There are not enough accolades for great work. Thanks many times over. Ginny Fowler"

"I could have not been more pleased with Mr Maurer. In grinding the stump a possible serious problem arose. He searched until the problem was solved. His work was exemplary. The area looked a lot better when he was through. I would highly recommend Mr Maurer based on my experience."

"I would definitely recommend them. We had three trees removed and stumps ground down. They were here on time, polite and did an excellent job. I will use them again if I am in need of tree removal again."

"Excellent! Outstanding work. Excellent team of workers. Initially had contracted for removal of 3 very large trees. After completing the work, decided to have an additional 2 large trees cut down. Followed instructions and moved the cut up tree pieces to exactly where I wanted them. Very highly recommended. Will be using them in the near future for sure"

"Hired to trim trees. Employees were friendly, answered any questions about the work, and shaped the trees properly. They came when scheduled, did not request any payment until the work was completed and I was satisifed with the work."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

You can trim just one side of the tree, especially when that side is growing near something like a power line or a home. Pros will carefully trim the tree back until it is safe from that structure. While this is common, it also needs to be done with the utmost care, as pruning or trimming away at one side of the tree may make it structurally unsound. This instance is yet another where hiring a pro is wise, especially if power lines are involved.

It can be bad to leave a dead stump in the ground. A stump becomes a hefty piece of dead wood in time and eventually (especially with the help of rain) starts to rot. That makes it a locus point for diseases and pesky insects, as well as a bit of an eyesore. It’s best to remove a tree stump completely before it starts to decay, especially before it starts to fall apart. If the tree was removed because of disease, it’s even more important to fully remove the stump if possible.

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

Absolutely. These steps are significantly easier, too, especially when it comes to preserving the root ball and moving the palm tree. However, you will want to make sure the tree has plenty of fertilizer to establish itself and start growing. Supports may also be more important, as it can take extra time for a potted palm to spread out its roots. If you are transferring a palm to another pot, you’ll want to move up a size or two to a larger pot. Make sure the pot has excellent drainage to keep the palm from getting waterlogged.
