"I have used this company since moving here 5 years ago.  Two days after moving here, our entire drain system was blocked.  I called a local company to fix the issue, but 2 days later, the plumbing was backed up again.  I called East Coast Drain, they came out immediately, and even discounted the price, feeling bad that the first plumbing company charged an exorbitant amount yet did not fix the issues.  Tree root had grown in to the fitting at the clean out.
Two years ago, I hired a contractor to remodel my bathroom and his plumber put in a lot of elbows under the house, creating another problem for us, requiring the drains to be cleaned occasionally .  I will soon be hiring East Coast Drain to fix that issue too.

"This company came the next day after I called them about slow drains and a garbage disposal that would throw ground garbage back into my double sinks. They snaked the drain and said the disposal wasn't piped right so that made it more likely to occur; they added another elbow to it, and it now works like it should and sounds better. They also plunged my bathroom sinks, showed me how to do it by putting my thumb over the drain hole, and they got my toilet working better by replacing the Fluidmaster and adjusting the water level. They are very professional, removing their shoes and wiping up any mess they make, which is very unusual for a plumber as any I have had in the past have always left a big mess for me to clean up. I was very pleased with their service will call them the next time I have a plumbing need, and plan to have them install a new toilet."

"Kevin came out on a Tuesday to start what he thought was going to be a two day job. It ended up being three days and he found more challenges as he began to fix things. First he started in the kitchen with the cabinet under the sink. The previous contractor had forced the cabinet in instead of taking the time to fit it properly. This lead to the bottom of the cabinet becoming dis-attached from the walls of the cabinet. As Kevin started taking the bottom of the cabinet out he found a heating vent that had not been properly blocked off. After fixing the heating duct issue, he was able to fix everything else in the kitchen. The repairs needed were the sink need to be sealed to the counter-top, all the back-splash needed to be re-attached and sealed, the island needed to be attached to the floor and all the show molding needed to nailed to the floor. In the bathrooms and laundry room all the molding needed to be nail, sealed and painted. Molding in the living room need to be finished due to the original contractor not finishing some sections. Then Kevin also had to install a hanging light in the front hall. Kevin let us know what he was doing and when he had to leave, where he was going and if he was running late he always called to let us know what the situation was and about what time he would be there.

"Dishwasher and ceiling fan service was wonderful. Garbage disposal is on its way, the shower fixture was a little messy and have to return 3 times to fix, pray its the last time. But not Choice Warranty's fault. Alittle pricey but allows you to pay them out."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.

You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. However, if you have any concerns or want to make absolutely sure that the connections are installed correctly, you may be better off hiring a local garbage disposal installer to do the job.
