Recent Septic Tank Service Reviews in Billings
Western Septic and Vacuum Services
5.0
The guys did an excellent job in my opinion. They had to do some excavating to get down to the pipe. The complete pipe was replaced, not patched in. The septic tanked was pumped out, inspected, and an access cover was installed above the ground for future cleaning. The guy did everything to the tee that he told me he was going to do before he started. He completed the job in one day like he said he would, and he put back all the landscaping back exactly how it was to begin with. I would have Western Septic come back in a heartbeat and do any repairs that I have in the future. Super nice guy, friendly, and was very reasonably priced for all the work he performed for me. 100% satisfied, that's for sure

Earthbuster came to the rescue. This process is amazing: no damage to our yard, the drain field works great again, and far less cost than a drain field replacement. Ken was great to work with. THANKS AGAIN.

He needed to use the hose off of our house - when my mother went to get it for him he shoved her out of his way. After rinsing off the filter for the septic tank he couldn't get it back in so he used a crow bar to try to get it back in. That didn't work but he pulled something else out - said "Uh oh" and then just let it drop back down into the hole. He said we'd have to get our septic dug up to get whatever it was he broke fixed. When I found out about him shoving my mother I called his cell phone and he hung up on me. I called him again and he cursed at me and then hung up again. The owner of the business was on vacation until July 28th - when I went to talk to him to tell him we were dissatisfied with the service we received he cursed at me and said we could file whatever we wanted - he would fight it. "Rick would never do something like that". He was old and heavy and came at me in a threatening manner when I was trying to talk to him about the issue. He was worse than his employee! I asked him if this was how he treated his customers and he said "Yes". We will never call his business again

"Was sooo professional, on time, explained everything he was doing. Did not drag dirty hoses through the house and downstairs. I’m so happy I found him. Will keep the ph number handy for next time. Usually a dirty old van with bald tires will show up and have a person matching the van drag dirty equipment around. Not this business. Definitely call them!! Thanks To John and his professional and happy attitude! 🤓

"It was the coldest part of the winter. They helped by replacing the sewer line, which required new pipes in the house and a whole new sewer line to be dug to connect with the city sewer. They were prompt and efficient under such cold circumstances. They were reasonable with their price and worked with us to make it possible. They have returned as the weather improved to make sure the land was leveled off and everything was ok. They recently helped our neighbor and she has the same glowing review.

"I went on a cleaning binge & decided to remove the shower handles to get rid of mineral buildup. When I removed the caps I discovered that the screw securing the handle to the cold water valve had rusted out. Additionally, a DIYer before me had apparently replaced one of the valve stems with a generic brand...hot & cold water valve stems were different. I actually 1st contacted another "national brand" plumber to give an estimate, but he didn't know what brand the parts "might be", didn't want to replace just the valve stems, and wanted instead to upsell the job to replace pipes, valves + more...estimate was near $900. I called Acorn--a LOCAL company-- and one of their plumbers was kind enough to stop by to assess the situation & identify the likely brand of the parts needing replacement. He then picked up the parts and replaced them at LESS THAN 1/3 the cost of the other guy's scheme.
Replacing a drain field requires digging up quite a bit of land and involves a decent amount of testing. Using this guide, you’ll learn how much it costs to replace a drain field based on a few key factors such as size and type of septic system.
If you’re wondering whether it’s safe to grow plants over your septic tank, the answer is yes, as long as you stick with plants that have shallow root systems to avoid damaging the septic system. Learn the best plants to install over a septic tank.
Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.
How often should a septic tank be serviced?
Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.
What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?
Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.
How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?
Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.
How much does it cost to install a septic system?
Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.
How long does a septic system last?
Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
