"Beautiful repair and finishing after foundation repair. Ron and Amy restored my entire downstairs basement and garage from an unsightly, unusable area to a showcase. There were several wide cracks and uneven slabs in the garage that extended across the adjacent basement. After a 15-steal pier foundation repair, the foundation was solid but the cracks were larger. Ron and Amy first smoothed out the slabs and then applied rods to help stabilize the cracks. They then finished the leveling of the floors and finally smoothed all with polishers. Finally a beautiful top finish with several layers of a color mix and texturing that was inspired by a visit to convention center. The transformation is nothing short of miraculous. This was in Nov 2019 and now 8 moths later the area continues to be beautiful, and has served as a very needed new usable space during the COVID-19 lock-down, including serving as a beautiful office and living space that is indispensable. I would highly recommend Ron and Amy if you have had a foundation repair and need to fully restore your basement or garage."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

You can whiten concrete for unsealed and unfinished concrete with a solution or either muriatic acid or bleach and water—but never both. However, if your concrete does have a stain, finish, or polish, keep in mind that these hard chemicals could damage the topcoat. Your best bet otherwise is to power wash outdoor concrete slabs or clean indoor ones with a gentle cleaner such as laundry or dish detergent.

Factors like the time of day you choose to seal the concrete, temperature, humidity, and airflow will impact drying time. To shorten the drying time, seal concrete in the late afternoon on a day with a temperature between 45 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Epoxy flooring is used in many outdoor applications. Pebble epoxy flooring, in particular, is a great choice for most areas like porches, patios, and walkways. It adds visual appeal while adding texture using natural materials. The surface, however, can be slick when wet. Consider adding a non-slip additive if the area gets heavy foot traffic or if you live in a wet climate.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.

Yes, you can seal old or existing concrete, but proper preparation is crucial. The concrete surface must be clean, dry, and free of any incompatible old sealant. To check if an old sealer is present, drip a few drops of water onto the surface; if the water is absorbed in under five minutes, it's ready to be resealed. If you plan to use the same type of sealer that was previously applied, you may not need to remove the old layer. However, if you are using a different type of sealer, the old one must be completely removed. Before applying the new sealer, thoroughly clean the concrete and repair or fill any cracks to ensure a smooth, well-prepared surface.
