"It was wonderful working with Chris/ Nextgen today. He did a great job explaining everything I need to do with my unit, what to expect, and all the benefits I can get from it. I really appreciate the time he took to answer my questions and make sure I understood everything. I just want to say thank you, Chris, for all your help! I look forward to a great installation! "Brian Davis and his brother Tony got the call to repair my deep well pump. It was during the power outage due to the devastating ice storm that crippled Lafayette County and surrounding counties. We were cold with little heat and now, no water for 24 hrs. They drove over an hour, through icy roads, to make sure my family had water during this stressful time. Within 2 hours they had everything back up and running again. They are very professional and knowledgeable in all areas of work. I won't hesitate calling them again for any job I can't do myself."

"Chris’s crew was outstanding. They cleaned our crawlspace and didn’t encapsulated it. They were placed ductwork where it was needed. The photographs are clear documentation of a home improvement. I think the cost was reasonable to high, but I have nothing to compare to. In the end, I am quite pleased. The dehumidifiers have lowered the humidity in the living space and eliminated a musty smell that had been present. I can recommend him with no reservation."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Choosing between a ductless mini-split and central AC depends on your specific needs. Ductless mini-splits are ideal for targeted cooling, providing zoned comfort and energy efficiency. They are perfect for smaller spaces or homes lacking ductwork. In contrast, central AC offers consistent cooling throughout the entire house but requires ductwork and may be less energy-efficient for smaller spaces.

Consider factors like budget, home size, and cooling preferences to make the right choice. Combining both systems, with a ductless mini-split in specific areas, can also be a viable solution for tailored comfort and overall efficiency.

Modern AC leak sealants work as a temporary measure to stop refrigerant leaks. You can purchase them at most home improvement stores or on online. When using an AC leak sealant, keep in mind that it’s only a temporary solution, so you’ll still need to hire a pro to install a replacement part as soon as possible.

You may never need an AC recharge if there are no leaks. However, if your AC unit has a leak that cannot be patched appropriately, you’ll need an AC recharge every time the freon level drops low enough that it disrupts your system—this could be once every two to three years. It all depends on the size and frequency of the leak.

A dual evaporator coil is a specific design that allows the AC system to cool different compartments at different levels. It’s usually seen in refrigerators and similar appliances, but not in whole-house air conditioning systems. Talk with your AC technician about the best uses for a dual evaporator coil.

No, you should not attempt to replace an AC evaporator coil yourself. This is a complex task that must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. The process involves handling hazardous and flammable refrigerants, which poses significant safety risks. Attempting a DIY replacement can also cause further damage to your HVAC system and will likely void its warranty. It is necessary to hire a local AC repair professional for this job.
