Small jobs welcome

"The job required digging up a lot of invasive plants under a large oak tree in clay soil. We had to dig 4 to 6 inches down. The work was done well. He was very friendly. We just had some problems with scheduling. Other than that great help."

"We had to have two pine trees cut. One in the front yard and a really big one in the back. They did an amazing job. And made sure that the yard was cleaned up afterwards. They are very friendly and professional. Would very much recommend them!"

"From the person that gave me a price to remove the tree , Quinn , to the crew that removed the tree , I was impressed with their professionalism. Showed up on the day promised and on time. the tree was overhanging my garage and house , neither had anything dropped on it. When they left , the tree was gone and the yard cleaned up. I have no problem recommending Landworx for any tree removal you might have. Also , the price was very reasonable."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Many consider the Fraser fir to be the most popular type of Christmas tree, but which type of tree sells out near you can depend on region and decorating trends that year. For example, the Leyland cypress is especially popular in the Southeast, according to the National Christmas Tree Association.

There are a few differences between tree guying and tree staking. Tree guying requires anchor stakes that are shorter and stronger than regular stakes and are driven deeper into the ground at an angle away from the tree. Tree staking uses longer stakes that are set parallel to the tree and are used for smaller trees. Consult a local tree professional to determine which method is best for your tree.

We don’t recommend DIY tree trimming for a few different reasons. First, the tools required to trim a tree can be costly, up to $1,100 or more, for the ladders and specialized saws needed.

Safety is another concern, especially when working with more mature trees. As a guideline, you should only DIY tree trimming when branches are less than two inches in diameter. Any more, and the safety risk becomes too high, which could lead to catastrophe. For this job, it’s safest to let a tree-trimming professional assess the work needed.

Not all leaning trees are dangerous, but they can be a hazard as gravity may eventually cause them to fall. A key factor is whether the lean is new or has been present for a long time. Trees that have grown with a lean for years are not typically an immediate danger, but a sudden lean is a cause for concern as it often indicates weakening roots. If a tree is leaning more than 15% from vertical, you should consider having it straightened or transplanted. To be safe, it's always best to hire a professional arborist to inspect any leaning tree to assess the risk and avoid potential accidents.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.
