"The move was professionally done. Members of the moving team were pleasant and informative. They carefully assessed the best way to get the piano in my house. Unfortunately, an accident occurred when moving the piano out of the seller's house, leaving some gashes in the wood along the front of the piano. I was not there and the seller did not see what happened, so have no idea why the damage occurred. The company was most gracious in giving me a reduced moving fee for the damage. This should help in covering costs to try to hide the wood damage."

"So I hired these folks to help me unload a self-move U-Haul. I did help extensively with the unloading. I also moved six times in 10 years. While the workers were extremely nice, they did not arrive with basic moving gear: gloves, sliding pads, or hoist straps. They caused more damage than I'm comfortable with for a move. Furthermore, mid-transaction, the payment method changed, and the phone number became obsolete. I had concerns on the operational side."

Your furnace rests at the center of one of the most complicated infrastructures in your home. Air intakes, ducts, water, electricity, and sometimes gas connect up to the system. This timeframe allows plenty of time for tasks such as researching moving companies, creating a budget, coordinating with employees, decluttering and organizing, packing, and addressing any logistical challenges. Starting early also ensures that you have flexibility in scheduling and can handle unexpected hiccups that may arise during the planning process.

It is not difficult to drive a U-Haul truck or other rental truck, and you don’t need an additional license on top of a standard government-issued driver’s license in most cases. However, those unaccustomed to driving large vehicles may have difficulty adjusting to the maneuverability of a rental truck. Parking can also be more difficult.

You can save money when moving by packing and moving items yourself. You can also find ways to cut costs by shopping for packing supplies at discounted stores and getting free moving boxes instead of purchasing them. It also pays off to declutter your belongings prior to starting the moving process. Remember, the fewer items you have, the fewer packing supplies you have to buy, and you can rent a smaller moving truck or container, too.
