"FoamCo recently insulated our basement walls. Before, we couldn’t use the basement in the winter time. We noticed an immediate difference once the insulation went in, and now our basement is our favorite cozy hangout spot in the house. They were great at explaining exactly what kind of insulation I needed and were actually the best priced bid we got."

"One of the best experiences we've had with work done in our home. Zac and the team from Foam Co went above and beyond for our project - removing the old insulation from our attic and installing new insulation. They arrived exactly at the agreed on time, took care to protect our home from any mess or damage, and completed the entire project in just a few short hours. All of the team members were polite and kind. They went above and beyond to clean up at the end of the project and to make sure we were satisfied with their work. We will absolutely hire them again in the future!"

"The estimate and the people doing it was good. They knew what they were talking about and took their time. They said the work would start early February before they can start, which is fine its no rush. But we would appreciate if they could just give us a date. My wife has chased them down and they haven't gotten back to her. Just keep us in the loop, we shouldn't have to chase them down. We understand if the weather delayed or a set back. Its not hard to make a call or send an email."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Several types of professionals handle insulation service across MO. Standalone contractors focus entirely on residential applications like blown-in or spray foam. Because of the mixed-humid climate, local HVAC professionals bundle air sealing and crawl space encapsulation with heating and cooling work. Weatherization specialists perform energy audits and upgrades. Additionally, specialized contractors focus specifically on basements and crawl spaces to address flood-adjacent environments near the river.

Helpful?

After completing your insulation service, schedule a final inspection to document code compliance. Request a blower door test to verify the effectiveness of the air sealing. Because Washington has elevated radon potential, test your indoor radon levels ninety days after the project finishes. Install humidity monitors in your attic and crawl spaces, and ask a professional to re-evaluate your heating and cooling load calculations for optimal efficiency.

Helpful?

Proper moisture management is the most critical factor for insulation service longevity in MO. Your contractor must install correct vapor barriers to prevent humid summer air from condensing and causing mold. In older homes, seal all air leaks around penetrations and rim joists before adding new materials. Maintain appropriate attic ventilation ratios, and use moisture-resistant materials in crawl spaces to protect against river flooding and high humidity.

Helpful?

To ensure safety during insulation service, schedule the work during the mild spring or fall seasons in Washington. This timing allows you to open windows for proper ventilation. Vacate the home completely during installation to avoid exposure to off-gassing and airborne particles. Relocate all pets outside the house entirely, as loose-fill materials irritate respiratory systems. Always request lead paint and asbestos testing for older properties before starting.

Helpful?

When hiring professionals for insulation service, verify they carry required general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Washington features hot, humid summers and cold winters, so your contractor must understand local moisture management and vapor barrier requirements. Many older homes in the area have knob-and-tube wiring or older materials. Ensure the contractor accounts for these conditions and addresses active radon mitigation compatibility before starting the project.
