"We recently completed a kitchen and living room remodel. We replaced floor, kitchen cabinets and appliances, changed the room layouts added a large island, replaced windows, doors and replaced wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace. The project also included plumbing, electric and painting. Troop provided us with a team of professionals who was able to complete most task by themselves but also had the contacts to outsources tasks they couldn’t support. We were very happy with there workmanship and the product the finished product they provided. We were also happy with the suggestions and ideas they provided along the way to improve our project. Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

While some highly experienced homeowners can frame a house independently, it is not advisable. You will need ample carpentry experience, a team of helpers, and professionals to sign off on your work to meet local building codes. For the safest outcome, we recommend buying or building a house with the guidance of professionals.

When hanging a door frame, it’s recommended that you use screws, not nails. Screws are more secure, easier to tighten, and easier to remove if you need to adjust the frame. On average, the cost to replace a door frame is about $400, but you can save on labor costs if you’re confident in your ability to DIY the project.

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.

When building a house, it is customary to use 16d nails that measure 3 1/2 inches in length to construct the frame. These nails are crucial in providing the necessary support and stability for structural elements like joists and studs, which ensures a sturdy framework.
