"The work was substandard at best. I was deceived on the work that would be performed. I was told at the time of sales that the wood siding I had would be cut back and replaced with similar material. It was not. It was replaced with what appears to be a type of trim. I had originally called in because I wanted my house painted. They then only painted the siding and told me the trim would be extra after they had already started the job. At this point I felt like I was being held hostage to their demands. Since they had already started the job they would do what would normally cost over $2000 for around $1600. I elected not to have this additional work performed. I would have NEVER had them do any work had I known this from the beginning. There is caulk everywhere. Nothing was taped or masked. The paint lines are not straight or even. Sometimes they would paint the side of the trim the same color as the siding. In other places they wouldn't. They washed out their brushes with my house in my yard. One night they left the hose on. I asked them not to wash their brushes in my grass and one of them was rude about it. Do not recommend. The owner offered me $200 off for my troubles. I just wanted the job done right. This isn't it. A month later and I'm still waiting for them to come and touch up spots where they set their ladder against the wet paint and you can see marks on the siding because of it."

Renew Crew started as Wood Re New in March 1993 in Springfield Missouri. In 1993 we began researching products and realized there was a need for an exterior wood care expert that could clean and maintain decks, fences, docks, cedar and redwood siding. Hence, Wood Re New was born. During the second year in business, with the assistance of a chemist, Stan developed an environmentally safe cleaner specifically for exterior wood. This cleaner is actually a thick foam that clings to vertical surfaces better, and achieves amazing results. After restoring the wood’s original beauty we apply our exclusive Protectant to safeguard it from further damage by the elements. Our proprietary protectant repels water and blocks harmful u.v. rays and gives wood a rich, new appearance. Wood Re New started as a home based business and now occupies a 4000 sq. ft. location. In 2013, the year of 20th Anniversary, we became Renew Crew! "Roy and Sean saved our kitchen. This is a long story, but worth it. We previously had our kitchen partially remodeled by another contractor, which was a complete disaster. The contractor backed out of our project at approximately 60% completion, leaving us with an incomplete and poorly executed remodel. We felt defeated and unmotivated to fix the problem. In December 2018, we met Roy and his son Sean. They were unapologetically transparent with us about the state of our remodel and what must be done to make it right. We reviewed three bids in total- Roy was the highest (by only a little) but we felt that their expertise was the only path to a beautiful finish, We were right. Not only were they both extremely professional, but they were an absolute joy to work with. They were always up front about potential cost increases (such as our tile upgrade), and listened to our vision the whole way through. They also made several professional design recommendations that we integrated into the project. Roy’s team was dedicated to our project from start to finish (they do not job-hop). The job was complex- we were salvaging existing countertops (as we had just had quartz countertops installed during the previous remodel snafu) and it also involved demo-ing most of the kitchen while attempting to save the tops. We were able to save the island, but the sink top had to be replaced due to poor installation by the previous contractor. This project also included two custom-fabricated wood columns and floating wood shelves with integrated lighting. We had custom cabinetry made as well, and crown molding throughout the main floor to integrate into the kitchen. The project could not have gone any smoother. We are thrilled with our kitchen and would recommend Roy and Sean to anyone who wants the job done right. We feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Roy and Sean- their craftsmanship is unparalleled."

Yes, you can use paint if you want to refresh your tile countertops. However, you must be mindful of the type of paint you use. Look for options explicitly created for tile that are also waterproof and durable. Over time, the paint will chip, so this is not considered a long-term solution for busy kitchens.

Homeowners may choose chalk paint over regular paint if they want to hide all of the wood’s grain, don’t want to apply a large number of coats, and like the extreme matte appearance. Chalk paint is easier to work with than regular paint and adds a unique texture to furniture that regular paint just can’t match. 

You can paint over wood, wood-laminate, and metal cabinets, but you need to prepare the surface first. Plastic laminate cabinets and thin veneers may accept a layer of paint depending on their condition, but they require special techniques and paints. If your cabinets sag or have significant damage, it may be a better investment to replace your cabinets than paint over them.

Plaster is denser, harder, and more porous than drywall, so it absorbs moisture differently. This means you’ll often need more prep work, such as thorough sanding, patching, and priming with a high-quality bonding primer. Additionally, you may need more coats of paint to achieve even coverage. While the process takes more time, it helps ensure a durable and professional-looking result.

The only time that it's okay to leave a paintbrush in water overnight is when you're trying to remove dried-on paint. However, don't allow the bristles to rest on the bottom of the container. Remember that soaking it longer than necessary can damage the brush.
