"I can’t recommend Chad highly enough. He’s done several projects for me so far: replacing my exterior French door frame with brick molding, installing a new interior window sill, and adding drip edge/smart siding trim around the exterior of the house. Every job was done with care, skill, and attention to detail. He communicated clearly the whole way through, explained what needed to be done, and made sure I understood the plan before he got started. And he left everything clean when the work was finished, which says a lot about his professionalism. Beyond doing great work, he’s just a great person. Honest, dependable, and someone I fully trust in my home. I’ll absolutely be hiring him again for future projects."

"I hired this company to do deck repair not knowing whether it could be repaired or needed to be totally replaced. Nick and Joseph did an amazing job in blistering heat. Both very personable and willing to answer all my questions. The owner, Mark Kowertz, was very professional and gave me options/suggestions regarding condition of my deck and what could be saved and what needed to be replaced. Very reasonable in pricing. I have already recommended them to two other folks. You would not be wrong in giving them a call. I would highly recommend them."

The best way to calculate framing costs is by basing your costs on the square footage of your home. On average, framing your home could cost anywhere between $7 and $16 per square foot.

To ensure you don’t go over budget, base your estimates on the higher end of the price range. If you know you’re going to use high-end materials or require a custom or complex build, you might even want to tack on an additional 5% of your budget.

Installing an ornamental or decorative porch column takes around three to five hours. Structural columns take longer because your pro has to install a jack to hold up the roof while switching the column out. If there's any structural damage, it can add several days to the timeline to repair the damage.

It’s sometimes safe to replace a load-bearing wall with a beam, but you need a structural engineer to sign off on the project. You’ll also likely have to upgrade to a steel I-beam or another material that’s stronger than wood to maintain the level of support you need without the wall underneath.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

When deciding whether to use nails or screws for framing, the specific needs of the project must be taken into account. Nails have long been the go-to option for framing due to their affordability, ease of installation, and ability to withstand shear forces. They are perfect for structural framing projects where fast assembly is essential. In contrast, screws offer exceptional holding power and are particularly useful in situations requiring increased strength and resistance to pull-out forces. For projects that prioritize accuracy and long-lasting quality, screws may be the preferred option, though nails remain a dependable and efficient choice.
