"Hans came out and looked at what we wanted, said he could get it done within a few days, and he ended up being able to come out that same afternoon to do the work for us. This is the second time we hired him. And we will call him again if we need any electrical work. He is very pleasant to work with."

"Did a great job wiring our shop! Dan & Ben came and did a walkthrough and gave their advice on where to place outlets, etc and then figured out the most efficient way to get it all done. The lighting when finished is very nice and bright, and job was completed on schedule and came under their estimate."

"Drew was very personable and was willing to work within my budget. I had called around and gone over my electrical issue with several other companies who insisted I needed to completely upgrade the service which would have cost me over double what I ended up paying with Sundberg. He couldâ ve told me the same thing as the other companies but instead walked through the exact issues and suggested something that completely eliminated my original issue while saving me money. We had another completely unrelated electrical issue pop up shortly after and he was able to fix it within a few days of us contacting him. We will use Sundberg for all our future electrical work!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Springfield, MO, choose copper wiring rated for local code compliance and ensure all materials, such as weather-resistant outlets and conduit, are suitable for Missouri's seasonal humidity and temperature swings. Local suppliers recommend using GFCI outlets in basements and outdoor areas due to Springfield's storm risk. Always verify materials meet Springfield's electrical code before purchase and installation.

Helpful?

In Springfield, frequent mistakes include skipping the required electrical permit, overloading circuits, and using materials not approved by local code. Homeowners sometimes neglect to schedule mandatory inspections with the Springfield Building Development Services Department, risking fines or failed projects. To avoid these issues, always follow Springfield's electrical code, use code-compliant materials, and consult local authorities or a licensed electrician before starting any project.

Helpful?

In Springfield, most electrical projects—including panel upgrades, new circuits, or major rewiring—require an electrical permit from the Springfield Building Development Services Department. Projects involving structural changes may also need a building permit. Inspections are mandatory and must be scheduled through the city's permitting office. Always consult the Springfield Building Development Services Department for current requirements and to ensure your project meets local electrical code standards.

Helpful?

DIY electrical work in Springfield can save money for minor repairs, but risks include failing inspections, violating city codes, and potential safety hazards. Hiring a licensed electrician ensures compliance with Springfield's permitting process and local building codes, and provides liability coverage. For major projects or any work requiring a permit, the Springfield Building Development Services Department strongly recommends using a certified professional.

Helpful?

After electrical work in Springfield, schedule periodic inspections with a licensed electrician, especially after severe weather common in Missouri. Test GFCI outlets and smoke detectors at least twice a year, and check for signs of wear or corrosion in panels and outlets. The Springfield Building Development Services Department advises documenting all permitted work for future reference and resale value, ensuring ongoing code compliance and safety.
