"They did a good job. They answered all my questions and had good communication. My driveway was an old two-lane road about 1700 feet long. They patched what they could I did a good job sealing it up. I will use them again when the need arises!!"

"Absolutely wonderful people! Do the unexpected large snowfall, I was hoping they could come to dig us out. They were there promptly early the next morning, and not only clear the driveway, but did the sidewalk by hand and even salted next to the house. Certainly went above and beyond and made our life so much better! Also super nice people and look forward to doing more business with them during the summer after the snow!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

In Springfield, rocky subsoil and clay require extra base preparation for asphalt paving. Rolling terrain demands precise grading, while steep driveways and mature trees with extensive roots can complicate installation. Narrow access points in older neighborhoods and the need to work around shallow or unmarked utility lines add further challenges. Effective drainage solutions are essential, especially for low-lying or flood-prone properties.

Helpful?

Professionals in Springfield determine project boundaries by first consulting Greene County property surveys and the city's GIS mapping system. They contact Missouri One Call (811) to locate underground utilities before any digging. Boundaries must also account for Springfield's stormwater management requirements, ensuring proper drainage, and meet city street department standards for any driveway connections to public roads.

Helpful?

Springfield homeowners are choosing stamped asphalt that mimics brick or stone, decorative borders with concrete, and permeable asphalt for eco-friendly drainage. Earth-tone color additives blend seamlessly with local landscapes. Integrated LED lighting along driveways and walkways is popular for both safety and curb appeal. Recreational spaces, like half-court basketball areas, and circular driveway layouts are also trending in the area.

Helpful?

When hiring pros for an asphalt paving project in Springfield, MO, confirm they have experience with Missouri's freeze-thaw cycles and local soil. You should check their reputation with the Springfield Better Business Bureau and ask for references from recent Greene County projects. Ensure they carry the required state liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage and can secure the necessary city permits.

Helpful?

In Springfield, keep kids and pets safe during asphalt paving by installing temporary barriers and clear warning signs around the work zone. Schedule the project when children are at school and keep pets indoors for at least 24 hours after paving. Opt for non-slip finishes on walkways and ensure smooth transitions to prevent tripping. Good drainage helps avoid puddles, making the area safer for everyone.
