As someone who has used the "big stores" for a hardwood flooring project and have now completed my project with Gentry's Hardwood Flooring, there is a difference. The differences are attention to detail, quality, and reputation. The "big stores" subcontract out there work to 'other' installers. Those installers get paid the more jobs they do. He came in after another contractor started the job and was able to point out a few blemishes something that another contractor and/or company may have missed such as the uneven sanding, circular sanding and the uneven floor finishes. He stated this was a crucial part of the process as this would have been noticeable once stained was applied and was not noticeable to the naked eye. Only an expert like Kenneth would know.
