"They were great!! The yard looked better than I thought it could. I got immediate responses and they sent pictures to my phone (I wasn’t home when they completed the job) when they were finished up. Their communication and prompt service was GREATLY appreciated. I’d highly recommend them for any yard cleanup!"

"My project was tricky, what with multiple overhead service lines, out buildings and even a 10x20 storage tent under the hugest tree. Three huge ash bore victims had to be removed all in one day. Super coordinated team accurately placed each branch where they intended, cut, hauled, and chipped. Next day ground the stumps and removed the chips in just a few hours. Highly recommend them! See more at Gilbert’s website."

Customers say: Quality work

"My daughter and her husband bought their first home and wanted to remove some trees for creating a yard and garden space. I took out the one that a large ladder could reach and cleared the fence of a LOT of brush. I piled this in the center of the backyard and looked at the tree, soft maple, that remained. I couldn't reach the branches and theorized about cutting steps into the trunk to achieve the goal. My daughter was not fond of my ideas. I was very happy to see that JC Garay and his crew were very prompt in getting the tree out as well as the MOUNTAIN of debris that I left. It is so glad to see professionalism is alive and well. Thank you!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"My house sits on a ¾ acre lot. When I moved in 14 years ago, ½ acre was so totally overgrown with brush and trees a dachshund couldn’t have chased a rabbit through it. Within two years I had 34 trees removed. A few years later I had another 14 removed. By then I had a pretty good idea of what tree removal should cost. Recently, two forty foot tall walnut trees in the front of my lot appeared to be creating a hazard, so I decided to have them removed along with another dead tree about the same size which was at the back of my lot. After initiating the process through Home Advisor, Mr. and Mrs. Martinez were the first to call, and came out promptly to give me an estimate for the work. I thought the bid was quite fair but did get another just to be sure. The second one was significantly higher, so I gave the go ahead to Mr. Martinez. Their crew arrived at exactly the appointed time, completed the project more quickly than I would have thought possible, cleaned up thoroughly after themselves, and were very pleasant to work with. I will have more tree work to do in the future, and they will be my first call."

FAQs for brush chipping projects in Raytown, MO

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

Mulch costs anywhere from $30 to $150 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
