"Ryan did an excellent job communicating the timelines for installing the gas lines. Not only did they do a great job installing the lines but he went above & beyond by alerting me to water damage in my ductwork that was missed on my insurance claim. Definitely use this company. They are awesome!"

"Mr. Barnhouse was more than fair with his estimate and made suggestions as to make the job go faster and less $$$. I was impressed with his staff and they didn't stop until the job was done. Excellent work. This is the second time I have used this company and they will be my "go to" people when the need arises.

"The tech came out, checked every part inside the dryer before moving on to verifying that the electrical supply and cord were correct.  The problem turned out to be that the wall outlet had gone bad.  It was good that they did diagnose (correctly, replacing the outlet fixed the issue) the problem, but annoying that it was the _last_ thing the tech thought to test, rather than first.

"I did not like using a shower curtain and wanted to add a glass shower door. Charlie Gore was a consummate professional. He is pleasant and spent a lot of time with me analyzing my shower opening and helping me order online, (from any store), the best door for my situation. The installer was also polite, had attention to detail and cleaned up properly. Both gentlemen were on-time and followed up days after the installation to assure that I was satisfied with their services. AMAZING COMPANY & HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! A+++++++"

"Mike did great work on our shower remodel. Communication was great all the way from planning to installation. Provided daily pictures of progress and showed up when he was scheduled to be there. Beautiful Shower! We are thrilled. Called Mike several months later for a follow-up concern and he responded quickly and addressed our issue."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Some sump pumps are powered by water rather than electricity. Water-powered sump pumps generally use one gallon of city water to pump out two gallons of water from its basin. Therefore, if you're looking at a potential 10,000-gallon flood, your sump pump will need to use 5,000 gallons of city water to prevent it.

Every three to four months, you should clean any dirt and debris off of your sump pump. You should also check the inlet screen (at the bottom of the pump) to make sure that it isn’t blocked. On top of that, you should deep clean your sump pump once per year—or hire a sump pump pro to do it for you.

No. Sump pumps have different capacities, which refers to the volume of water that they can remove. They also come in various horsepower ratings, which measure the size of the pump’s motor. For many homes, 1/3 horsepower is enough. But if you live in an area that floods often, you might need a more powerful model.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

Thankfully, you do have a few sump pump backup options in case it fails. One option is a battery-powered backup sump pump. Another option is using a portable backup generator as a power supply for your sump pump. Unlike a battery-powered backup which has limited power, a generator can run around the clock for as long as you need it.

Or you can opt for a water-powered backup pump, which uses your home’s water supply as a source of power. However, this may not be the best option if you find your house frequently has low water pressure.
