"We found Fred's Company on Angi. He has great reviews on Angi and that was why we contacted his company. When we first met, he showed us photos of decks he has done and even showed us his insurance information which was important to us. Fred is great with communication, and he sent us texts when he was on his way to our house to do the work, He called after it was completed to make sure we were happy with his service and the deck, which we were. He also asked if we needed help putting our furniture back on the deck which we didn't, but it was nice he offered. We are very happy with our deck and the way it looks now after the work."

"We needed two light switches replaced in one of our bathrooms. A switch broke the week before Thanksgiving. They responded quickly and professionally. The work site was cleaned up after they were done. We would use them again and recommend them to our neighbors."

Customers say: Quick response

"Jacob and Cody have been amazing to work with. We originally hired them to repair our stairs and have since contracted with them to install our kitchen tile floor, install electric in our kitchen island and to repair some of our drywall. Their team is very professional, their estimates are accurate and they do quality work. We plan to hire them again when we remodel our bathrooms."

"CNA Construction is much more than just handyman services. They not only tore out a tile kitchen floor and installed wood flooring but installed kitchen cabinets, lighting, tore down walls and soffits and did a great job with everything they touched. Curtis and Ryan are so professional, respectful , honest, reliable, hardworking and everything else that you would want from someone working in your home. In other words, we cannot say enough good things about them!"

"Fred was great and very understanding. Our mailbox pole kit was delivered the day before our mailbox. He came over in the morning to install the pole and then later in the day when the mailbox had been delivered. He was prompt to reply to text messages and very pleasant to work with. My wife and I will be using him for other handyman jobs around the house."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Your local town or municipality’s fire code and other applicable ordinances will set out the requirements for installing and maintaining a private fire hydrant. These rules can vary from place to place, so it’s crucial to consult with your town’s fire or code enforcement departments before you install a private hydrant on any property you own. Alternatively, you can hire a professional fire service consultant to help you interpret local laws and ensure you’re fully compliant with those requirements.

Start by checking the top or side edge of the door. Look for a certification label or metal tag stamped with details like the fire rating and information on the manufacturer. Even if it’s painted over, the tag should still be visible. Next, look along the edges for slim intumescent strips. They’re designed to swell up and seal gaps when exposed to heat. Finally, check if the door closes itself. Most fire doors have a self-closing mechanism, like an overhead closer or spring hinges. If none of these are obvious, contact a fire safety professional to help verify your door.

Pellet stoves are safer than wood stoves in many ways. They don’t produce as many creosote deposits as wood stoves do, they create less smoke, and the flames are contained, decreasing the risk of any sparks or embers creating a house fire. Pellet stoves also burn more cleanly and efficiently than wood stoves do.

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches often result from loose wiring, exposed connections, or other electrical problems that can cause overheating or sparking. Warning signs include crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when you flip the switch, which indicates live electricity that could ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, immediately turn off the power at the circuit breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.

It’s technically possible in some areas to install your own fire suppression system, but it’s usually not a good idea. Your system must conform to the fire code in your area and will need to pass a rigorous inspection before being activated and deemed safe. Installing a fire suppression system is a complicated job, and making mistakes as a DIYer is likely. Those mistakes can cause you to fail your inspection, which means you’ll have to spend more time fixing the issues or money to have a certified plumber do the work for you. It’s best to hire a professional.
