"The GIC team was very prompt and knowledgeable. They were very neat and cleaned up well after themselves. We had our attic insulated and foam sprayed on rim joist and basement crawlspace. We noticed the house to be much quieter immediately. So glad we had this done in January before the -22 degree temperatures hit. Can't wait to see the effect on summer air conditioning bills."

"I highly recommend Insulation Pros of KC for your insulation needs. Kyle the Sales Manager: made it easy to understand what I needed. Josie the Office Manager: took the time to answer my questions when I called, and was the one responsible for my decision to go with Insulation Pros. The installation crew: Devon, Tyler and Leo were a great team to work with, very personable and just all around nice guys who did a great job with the installation. Tanner - the Production Manager, who came by to see that everything was going like it should. From the first meeting with Kyle to the time the crew drove away, it was easy and pleasant to work with this company and they did a great job. Attached are pictures to show the 22" of insulation in my attic! :)"

"The Star Companies teams were professional, hard-working, friendly and the results are fantastic. Our attic has an unusual configuration, they took the time to make difficult installations of foam board in spots I did not think were even accessible. They had the lowest of three estimates, did great work! I highly recommend Star Companies."

"Daniel did an excellent job bringing our house up to code with insulation in the attic, he added insulation barriers to the walls to the living space, that were not insulated. Also he fixed the vents on the attic as some had mold (thank you) Daniel did an excellent job and came in on budget. And his bid was right on point and he worked with us on installation scheduling."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. If the same type of sagging occurs on a ceiling, however, you could be in danger of your ceiling falling in large chunks. When plaster sags, it loses its strength and ability to hold itself up. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.

It is possible to apply plaster on the interior or exterior of your home, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster is easy to apply in theory, but in reality, it can be a challenging material to work with, and it’s difficult to get the finished product to look clean, even, and smooth. Many DIYers end up calling in a professional afterward to touch up the area or even redo it entirely because of mistakes they made in the process. Hiring a plaster pro will cost more, but it’s usually the best option to achieve high-quality results.

Whether Venetian plaster increases your home's value often depends on the buyer's preference. As a purely aesthetic upgrade, it doesn't add structural value in the same way a kitchen or bathroom remodel might. However, its beautiful and attractive appearance can make a home more appealing to potential buyers, possibly leading to more interest, higher offers, and increased competition when you sell.

Installing or repairing plaster on ceilings differs slightly from performing the same motions on a wall. You’ll apply slightly less plaster to lower the overall weight of the ceiling. Wall texturing is common, whereas most ceilings are smooth plaster. Tough coat plaster is strong, meaning you can use less while retaining a solid surface.

It is more difficult to drywall a ceiling than it is to drywall a wall, but not so hard that DIYers can’t tackle it. One of the main issues with hanging drywall on your ceiling is getting it into place. Drywall isn’t light so, if you are hanging full drywall panels, you will need at least two (it’s better with more) people to hold the panel while you drill it into the ceiling as a single piece can weigh between 40 and 60 pounds and will need to be held in place for up to 10 minutes.
