"He contacted me very promptly and came to look at the project. He explained to me what the problem was and stated he did not have the proper special equipment to make the repair. He recommended a company that he felt sure would be able to do the work."

"They were able to do the very specialized repair that needed to be done to my steel plate that none of the other companies would even really give me a safe bid on. I would absolutely use their services again in the future if I need to."

"I hired them to do my deck and they did a great job. I tried to hire them for two other jobs but they gave me the run around about the estimate. They said they would send somebody out and never did, multiple times. I never could schedule with them, so I let go. I won't call them again."

"I called Jeff to explain what we needed built, and he was able to pick up the materials and come right away to build the needed structure.  He seems to be able to clearly understand what I am asking for, he listens to the info I give him and uses his skill and inventiveness to solve our needs. He customized the size to keep the trash containers from moving around.  He was so accomodating for this small project, and we really appreciate it."

I do privacy fence and deck repair and installation, minor Irrigation Repair/ maintenance, handyman services, Landscaping; I enjoy the idea of helping homeowners with their service needs and take pride in my work and not just looking for another paycheck. I have 9 years experience in facilities maintenance and related fields and just starting this owner- operated business in March. Note: we will closed for all major holidays.

"

Brad arrived right on time, taking care not to track snow into the house.  He was very careful to clean up afterwards, even volunteering to shovel snow off my back deck before he moved a storage box out there.  He was very professional and very pleasant.

Since he finished the job ahead of the allotted time, he offered to do more things that needed doing around the house.  It was a great experience!

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

The best material for your deck depends on several factors, including your budget, location, aesthetic preferences, and the level of maintenance you’re willing to do. Wood decking, like redwood, ipe, cedar, and pine, lasts the longest, but it’s more expensive and requires more upkeep than composite and synthetic decking.

Yes, it is generally safe to have a fire pit on a deck, but you must adhere to building codes and take several safety precautions. For both built-in and freestanding models, you must use a heat-resistant barrier, such as a fire pit pad or heat shield, between the pit and the deck. Additionally, consider the weight of the fire pit and ensure your deck can structurally support it, reinforcing it if necessary. The fire pit must also be positioned a safe distance from your house, particularly from materials like vinyl siding, to prevent heat damage.

There are ways to clean your deck to help maintain a clean appearance. You can easily remove surface-level dirt and grime by wetting your deck with a hose and doing a quick scrub with store-bought deck cleaner monthly.

However, investing in professional deck cleaning services near you at least twice a year is worth it. This service saves you time and ensures that your deck will avoid accidentally becoming scratched by blasting the pressure washer at the wrong angle.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

PVC decking can get slippery when wet because it’s made from plastic. However, composite and wood decking can also be slippery when wet. It’s best to wear shoes with grippy soles when walking on a wet deck, no matter the material, and to be extra cautious not to slip and fall down.
