"Professional and Knowledgeable... walked the entire property with me and developed a reasonable and affordable plan. His crewmembers were driven and polite (thank you for your service to the U.S.A.). Because of this experience he is the first one I will call in the future."

"This company does it ALL! When we called to get a quote on few projects around our house we found out all other extra things they do. I was so impressed by the professionalism and quality work they do. We got our house waterproofed (had a private pool on the side of our house), few drains installed in ground, mudjacking (lifted our driveway and steps) and fixed our sump pump to drain correctly and more. Our foreman was extra awesome and they left the site clean as a whistle. We will definitely use them for our future projects and we already recommended them to our relatives. A1 is A+ in my book!"

"WOW. We contacted Pg to see if they could upgrade our back patio. We wanted a new slab with the intent of adding a wheelchair ramp later. To our surprise, Ron came up with an offer and a design to remove our old patio and install a new one with an intergrated wheelchair ramp. After reviewing his plan, we decided to go with it. All I can say is amazing. It looks great and complies with all the legal requirments to be ADA compliant. Thank You PG"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Call 811 to locate and mark the gas lines at least three days before digging. In many areas, you can dig within 18 inches of the lines, though in some locations, the distance may be further. Check local regulations, as you may need a utility company representative onsite when digging. Document your calls to 811 and precautions taken to avoid gas lines. A homeowner can be held liable for hitting a gas line in some cases, but contacting the proper authorities and following all guidelines can offer protection.

To determine whether your homeowners' insurance will cover crawl space repair, consider the cause of the issue. Repair may be covered if the problems were caused by an event that the insurance covers, such as vandalism or a windstorm. However, companies won't cover the repair if the issues are caused by neglect or wear and tear.

Some two-in-one tools and machines do both jobs, and those could be the right solution for smaller residential projects. However, the phrase “use the right tool for the job” definitely applies to digging. For the best results, get two separate tools for your trenching and landscape edging projects or call a pro to take care of everything for you.

The best method for digging a trench depends on the scope of the project. For a short, shallow trench (less than 2 feet deep) in light, soft soil, digging by hand may be sufficient. However, digging by hand is labor-intensive, so consider the effort required. A machine trencher is the better option for longer trenches (over 100 feet), deeper ones, or when dealing with difficult soil conditions, such as rocky or hard ground, or obstructions like tree roots. A machine can save significant time and energy in these situations.

Yes, you can install a trench drain if you already have concrete in your yard or garden. While it can complicate some aspects of the job and slightly run up the cost, it is doable. Residential trench drains can be easily retrofitted to outdoor areas with concrete without having to remove excessive amounts of your patio, pool area, or decorative walkways.
